We stayed as a family with children for 5 nights and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is in a very convenient location, close to both the train station and bus stop, which made getting around Kyoto easy. Breakfast was nice every morning, and the onsen was a relaxing highlight after a day of sightseeing. The connected convenience store was very handy, especially when traveling with kids. The rooms were wider than expected, giving us more space and comfort. The Kyoto Railway Museum and Kyoto Aquarium were nearby, which was perfect for family outings. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay, it was comfortable, convenient, and made our Kyoto trip memorable. A perfect stay for families visiting the city!
I stayed with three friends. The twin room felt spacious even with an extra bed, the amenities were perfectly prepared for three people, from towels to drip coffee, and the toilet was separate, ensuring good privacy. There were no faults at all. The breakfast had a satisfying selection with plenty of meat and vegetables. In the large public bath, the manners and usage instructions were displayed clearly in multiple languages, so foreign guests were able to confirm how to use the facilities. The person in charge of check-in was 0% friendly but did accurate and quick work, which had its own charm, and I hope they continue in the same manner. What I found most impressive was that the basic cosmetic set we received included "one makeup remover + three each of facial cleanser, toner, and cream." An amazing user-focused perspective...! The service, refined to this level in just a few years, provided unexpected comfort in the finer details. Thank you very much. One suggestion: If you could provide a water dispenser in the large public bath, it would further enhance the hotel’s level of comfort! Please consider this.
This hotel is just 1 minute walk away from the subway station. It can be a bit difficult to find as it’s located at the corner next to Starbuck. The room is spacious (compared to other Japanese hotels) and clean. My room overlooks the railway, so it was a great view for my kid. The sound proof is good, so I can sleep well even though it’s near the train. Hotel staff are friendly and willing to help. They even have a sewing set when I asked for. The breakfast is great with a variety of foods, some changes daily. However during my stay, there was no beef, which is a bit disappointing as Japan is famous for wagyu beef.
This hotel is only a very short walk away from one of the few train lines in Kyoto which makes it easy to travel to key points such as arashiyama, Kyoto station, Fushimi inari, etc. The hotel itself is clean and in room shower/bathtub spacious and modern. They also have a public bathhouse available to relax in and although basic with just the shower heads and one medium sized bathtub--its clean, modern, and enough when not too crowded. They provide every amenity that you could need including razors, headbands, etc in room. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast is a great spread/variety with the Yuba/pork soup being a star -- easy and delicious to eat. The staff all speak English fluently here. Would stay again if in Kyoto

“Generally amazing hotel but location can be a challenge”
We were so impressed with the staff, the room, and the breakfast here. The room is gorgeous, modern, impeccably clean, with tons of natural light. We faced the station and got to see pink and purple sunset views every night we were there. The biggest drawback is the location. You need to take one stop on a local line to get to Kyoto station, or more stops in the other direction to get essentially anywhere else. This line can run as infrequently as once every 30 minutes, and at peak frequency you'd still want to check the timetable before you head out. This was a bit annoying because dining options in the area are limited. There's a lovely restaurant within the park area that we dined at and enjoyed, but it was pricey by Japan standards and we wouldn't want to dine there for a week straight. That being said, the hotel is absolutely gorgeous and we will be checking out the sanjo location next time.
