“Delightfully contemplative”
Delightfully contemplative The hotel seems to be quite meticulous, dotting the "i's" and crossing the "t's", in how it has put together a whole plethora of services and amenities. From the smallest ones such as a wooden toothbrush kit with a tiny packet of beads inside (which I presume has a sanitizing property) or the surprisingly decadent cookie served as a complimentary treat, alongside a decaffeinated coffee which is almost impossible to find in a regular hotel, to something as vital as the availability of space of which there are copious amounts in both the common areas and the rooms, or cleanliness which in this case is proven excellent in the hotel being dust-free and fragrant, or matters pertaining to aesthetics in which aspect they have "made the grade" as every space has a true premium atmosphere to it -- the hotel in every way proves to be quite well-contemplated and excellent. As far as the many other extras that were undoubtedly wrought out of much contemplation, the cuisine is one of them, specifically the reimagination of Filipino cuisine by a number of notable chefs. It was a regret that I wasn't able to try any of it because I had had a hearty meal that I ordered from a thai restaurant, the previous evening and I had anticipated a similarity in the flavor profile with those in their selection of filipino dishes -- savory and spicy -- so that I opted to order herbed roasted chicken instead which quite fortunately was milder in taste and aroma, yet also an elegant assemblage and a lovely dish altogether. Quite conveniently a business center was also present, adjoining the lobby and the cafe, fitted out with a computer and power outlets, perfect for those on a work trip. I also was quite enthralled by the fact that my room had the loveliest view of the iconic Makati skyline, and that an entire hall is beautifully arrayed with art pieces, showcasing the talents and creativity of actual artists, which strikes me as a form of community engagement and service. It's one of those extras you don't expect. Finally, the staff seemed to be of a breed of people who are inherently warm and amiable. Rica who was manning the front desk when I checked in, was very polite and very efficient, and it is also worth noting that her courtesy and professionalism was being echoed by the conduct of her colleagues who were also present at the time. Ren who was behind the desk when I checked out was also lovely in demeanor, and quite intelligent in addressing incidental concerns here and there. Last but not the least, the guard who brought me my thai food at 12 AM was also very obliging and polite. All in all, the hotel has left an impression and the place is on my list of hotels to recommend and book again myself.
