This hotel has become one of my favorite hotels to the point where I would go to the Philippines just to stay here. I would recommend it to everyone, from young couples to families with children and large families. <Pros> - Ideal resort - Clean - The atmosphere is similar to Club Med Ishigaki Island - Massages are reasonably priced - The staff is kind and helpful. When the scheduled car charter did not arrive even after the promised time, they called the travel agency for a replacement. Thanks to that, we were able to get on the car properly. - I never felt uncomfortable while staying at the hotel - There are many Instagram-worthy spots - You can play tennis, badminton, table tennis, and billiards. <Cons> - The cost performance is good, but the children's fee is unclear. We needed to pay extra for breakfast. - There were some noisy times outside. - It would be better to have more Filipino dishes on the breakfast menu.

It’s my second time here in Oceanica. The first one was with my friends and this time with my husband - and on both occasions, the resort NEVER disapppoints. The place is well-maintained and well-kept. I love the fact that they serve a sumptuous breakfast buffet spread every day with a lot of choices. The rooms are clean and all the facilities are always in pristine condition. The spa service is topnotch! The airport transfers are on time. The best part is the staff and crew - they are the nicest, friendliest, accommodating and are always, always smiling. ☺️ If you want total relaxation, then this is the best place to be. P.S. I wanted to express my gratitude to reservations team for accommodating my request to have a cake ready in our room when we arrives to celebrate my husband’s birthday! I can say that this hotel is indeed a 5 star hotel in Bohol. I stayed in other 5star hotels in Bohol and I can say that Oceanica is the best! Upon arrival, we were assisted immediately with our luggage then was lead to the front desk. Check in at the front desk was a breeze. Welcome drink is perfect! Rm was not yet ready when we arrived but we were advised that we can enjoy the facilities and they will just call us when the room is ready. After 30mins, we were able to get a room. Upon check in, there is a happy birthday set on the bed which absolutely made my day cause I am celebrating my birthday on that day. The bed and the pillows are very comfortable.;truly a 5 star kind of bed. The room smells great. The guest’s swimming pool is very clean. Does not smell of too much chlorine unlike Hennan and Be Grand. Breakfast selection is also great, there’s a lot of choices. Staffs are all courteous. I will definitely go back here. ❤️❤️❤️
Best way to experience Bohol’s beach”
It was our first time in Bohol, and being at South Palms was the first timer experience that we wanted. All the staff members were courteous and accommodating. Our room (beachfront deluxe) was super clean (I get allergies from dust, so I smell it right away if ever), and it was still spacious enough for two persons. I loved how our beachfront area was so quiet and secluded, even if we were a few meters away from the restaurants. The food was amazing, I particularly liked how the bacon was offered two ways. Their seafood was very fresh, you could taste the difference. I highly recommend their boneless crispy trotters and pair it with their alcoholic drinks! The facilities were great, also. There were two pools, one by the restaurants and one closer to the other rooms. They were kept clean, and the lifeguards on duty were alert and courteous. We appreciated the free kayak ride and the free trip to South Farm, we wouldn’t have done these activities if they weren’t free, haha. The beach was of white sand, powdery enough, and kept clean, but we were wary of the many seaweeds and mindful of sea urchins (to be honest we weren’t sure how they looked like, so we just stayed away from anything that may have resembled a living creature, lol.) the many hammocks, lounge chairs, and beachside chairs were inviting as they were instagrammable, hehe. All in all, our stay was the best. The quiet solitude it gave us, paired with the facilities and comforts we need during a vacation, made our experience in South Palms the best one so far in the vacations we’ve had this year. My husband, daughter and I took a tuk tuk to the resort from Tagbilaran Ferry Terminal, which took about 30 minutes. The front gate is manned by a security officer who verifies you have reservations and lets you onto the property. At the front of the resort, we were greeted by friendly staff who directed us to the check-in counter. We were offered welcome drinks and cold towelettes at check-in. Staff helps with luggage and as we walked further into the resort, we noticed how truly beautiful the facility was. My family and I were in awe. We were walked to our bedroom and it was a great room with two large beds and a smaller one for our 17 year old. They took care to include robes, flip flops and a bag of Peanut Kisses on our pillow. We truly felt as if we were in paradise. Within the first half hour, we were already enjoying the heated pool and live music. The bar area was spectacular, and the whole beach dining area was awesome. We got hungry, so we sat at one of the beach tables. We waited a while, but staff did not approach us to give us menus or ask if we needed anything. My husband eventually flagged a waiter, and after taking our order, the food out quickly. The food was great, and they charged the bill to our room, which is super convenient when you are at the beach or pool and don’t want to bring money or cards. The breakfast buffet was AMAZING. The food was fresh and delicious. We enjoyed the beach for a few hours and even utilized their free kayak and paddleboard rental, which was free to the resort guests. We went on a tour to see tarsiers, Chocolate Hills, the man made forest, and a few other top tourist attractions in Bohol. Upon returning to the resort, we got ready for dinner. This is where I feel it went downhill. After a long day, we were really hungry and tired. We sat at one of the tables on the beachside, and sat…and sat. There was an huge event happening, so we figured staff was busy but would get to us. After 30 minutes of waiting, my husband got us glasses of water since no one had assisted us yet. He also flagged down a waiter, who quickly took our order. I’m not sure where the communication got messed up but my daughter ordered a choco-banana shake. My husband ordered a chicken Cesar’s salad, and I just ordered the chips with spinach and artichoke dip because I was feeling a little too tired to eat a full blown meal. My husband asked for no anchovies. The waiter repeated our order, and perhaps I didn’t not hear him repeat it incorrectly, but the only thing he missed was keeping the anchovies off, so my husband reminded him to hold the anchovies, and the waiter wrote the instructions down. After waiting another 30 minutes, a different waiter brought out a chocolate Oreo shake for my daughter. Although she didn’t order the Oreo shake, she just drank it because we were starving and were getting irritated from waiting for so long. Finally, after a total of 45 minutes to an hour, the waiter came out with the salad and chips. The nachos were good but the dip was already cold. I didn’t complain for fear that it would take another hour for them to rectify my order. My husband’s salad had no chicken. How do you order a chicken Cesar salad with no chicken? We told the waiter that my daughter’s shake was wrong, but since she had drank about 1//3 of the glass, we weren’t offered a replacement (I’m guessing here). My husband was so hangry and irritated that he said he didn’t want his order and told the waiter to take the salad back. The waiter didn’t apologize, we weren’t offered anything at all. It’s not like we expected to be comped our food, but as guests at a supposedly higher caliber resort, you’d think they’d try to suggest something, anything, for the long wait, lack of service, and the incorrect order.
