It’s a good option for solo travelers, especially if you’re not too particular about sharing a room. The place follows a dorm-style setup with separate rooms for men and women. There are no curtains on the beds, so privacy is limited and you may hear snoring from roommates, which is something to keep in mind if you’re a light sleeper. There’s a common area where you can lounge or work, plus free tea and drinking water—small but appreciated touches. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. While communicating concerns in English can sometimes be challenging, using Google Translate works well. They even offered to safekeep my luggage after checkout and assisted me in carrying it up and down the stairs, which was very thoughtful, especially since there’s no elevator. Overall, it’s a pleasant and budget-friendly place to stay. It has all the basic amenities you need, though bath towels and toiletries are not provided. For the price, it’s a nice, practical option if you’re comfortable with shared spaces.
The standout feature here was the included baths for my reservation, which I used about 2x per day. Not a terrible walk from the MRT, but there are several bus stops and youbike stations nearby. My main gripe with the property is that there were lots of mosquitoes (except for the bath area, funny enough), so it was hard to get any good sleep. I must have gotten about 20 bites during my stay this week. It made both the room + lounge areas uncomfortable for me, so I tried to spend as much time as I could outside. I give it an above average rating just because of the cost + bath amenities, but likely would not stay again unless the mosquito problem is dealt with.
Location: It's just ok, takes a little bit of walking to the nearest convenience store and Kaohsiung train station. Has a nearby laundromat next block. Needs stairs to access the entrance (but a seated elevator is available too). The room is great, I got a single bed inside a small room with my own door + tv. Comfort room is shared. Great space to spread my luggage, and ample outlets and hooks. There is a side table but not comfy enough for me to work on. BUT there's a dining/common area that has enough tables and chairs. Wifi is good too. The highlight for me is the Japanese onsen with sauna and steam room. Although it could use some deep cleaning. If you're uncomfortable with this, there are also private showers within the bathroom. The rates come with breakfast too which is a few choices such as porridge, toast, coffee, tea. Overall, great value for money, but quiet a walk to the train station (400m+?). Would definitely come back if I go to Kaohsiung again.
It was value for money. The days I visited Kaohsiung were cold so I enjoyed its Onsen very much especially at night. Its location was great, only a short walk from subway/train station. Breakfast was okay. I, on and off l, stayed 4 nights in this place. Right before I checked out at 7am for my departure flight, its bathing area was closed. However it wasn’t cleaning time. I found it strange and inconvenient as I always had shower right after waking up.

There is a large public bath which may seem a bit strange for a Japanese person. It has a regular temperature bath, a unnecessarily large lukewarm bath, a steam sauna, a dry sauna, and a quite cold water bath. The sauna feels more like an add-on; you might sweat if you stay in for a long time, but the steam sauna is more pleasant. In the middle of summer in Kaohsiung, where the discomfort index is around 80%, it might not be as desired. I had prepared for the bath to be slimy, but it wasn't the case at all. In the dormitory, there is no space to leave your belongings in the changing room, so you have to wrap them in plastic and leave them near the entrance of the bath. There are baskets and hangers that can be used freely along the wall in front of the front desk, which I think is convenient. The dormitory has bunk beds set up in a row, so comfort depends on the quality of the people in the room and how crowded it is; it's a matter of luck. There is one outlet near each bed, which is nice. Lights in the morning don't turn on until 9 or 10, so it's a good idea to prepare for departure at night. There are lockers inside the room, so making noise early in the morning might be bothersome, and it’s easy to forget things. Breakfast starts on time, and since I wasn't expecting much, I found it very delicious. It's mostly porridge or pizza toast with coffee. On weekdays, the prices become incredibly affordable, so I believe it’s less crowded during those times. If you use it when it’s not crowded on weekdays, I think it's not too bad. You can enjoy the bath comfortably. Right outside the accommodation, there is a busy beef noodle shop that was delicious. However, they close early and the side dishes tend to run out quickly. Next to the beef noodle shop, there is a 24-hour convenience store where you can buy things like earphones or sandals that you might have forgotten at a low price. It feels like a mix of a supermarket and a home improvement store, making it enjoyable to browse.
