Where to stay in Rayong Province
Rayong Province hotels & accommodations

just a one night trip from Rayong. perfekt location on the beach. very nice rooms in the hotel area.. dont know the standard in the bungalows. we arived from rayong beach with speedboat direktly to the hotel beach, the day after we walked with the childrens 5 and 8 year to the ferry to banphe aprox 15 minutes.

My wife and I booked this through Agoda. We got it for almost 50 % cheaper than if we had booked direct with the resort. So Do not book direct with them, never ever...they won't even match the Agoda price if called direct...I tryed...what can I say, they are silly like that.. Anyway the resort is the only one to have their own office and check in counter at the p...

My husband and I were passing through bangkok over the weekend and wanted to treat our daughter and her husband to a beach trip that would be a quick easy travel to a place with white sand beach and nice accommodations. We picked up a car in the airport and drove to rayong. There we checked our bags at the pier with the hotels concierge and from that point we were tr...

The location of the hotel on the best beach on Koh Samet together with great staff and very good restaurant made this a wonderful visit. We stayed in a beachfront room which in my opinion is the best choise there although a bit pricy maybe (but not compared to the other two hotels on the same beach). Every night, the restaurant was moved to the beach which was very app...

This resort is a cluster of cabins carved into the side of a hill. It's 4 star but the staff are 5 star. It really is a unique experience. The setting is on the beautiful private beach shared with 2 small resorts. U can use the amenities at either resort because they are the same company. From the moment you arrive you are treated like royalty, welcome Drinks, and sta...

hotel at the far end of the beach. check in was easy, staff were friendly, breakfast buffet was fresh and lots to choose from. could not login to the wifi from the user/pass they gave. at checkout, we waited for about an hour for the boat to come to take us back to rayong, but one of the hotel staff was nice enough to wait with us the entire time and brought us free ...

We enjoyed it. There was a group of people there one evening and they let them sing karaoke in the only restaurant they have. It was blaring. I asked to have it turned down as the restaurant is really long and open to the outdoors. We were at the opposite end as far as you could get from the stage and it was still blaring. One guy wasn’t all that bad ;), but the r...

The resort has private white sand beaches, from which you go snorkling, canoeing, or just relax and enjoy the peace. It is only about 20 minutes by speed boat from Rayong Baan Pae pier. The resort does not have many villas, and so affords privacy for the guests. Would recommended to enjoy the sunset at the bar. The restaurant meals are good and large portions, plus a n...

Having decided to get a speedboat from the mainland to the island, it turned out to be the best idea. We were dropped off on the beach outside the hotel, with friendly staff to take our bags. Check in was a breeze. Please note though, 500baht is needed as a deposit for the room key but is fully refundable on departure, as long as you still have your key! We had a bung...

A beautiful resort in a well maintained lush tropical garden. The restaurant serves great food for acceptable prices. The fact that I gave three stars for “facilities” is only of the quality of the WiFi service, which is slow and interrupted frequently. In fact it’s only suitable for sending short e-mails and messages most of the time. The hotel beach itself is rocky ...

No cons only pros this hotel is Brand new everything is clean the sheets and bed are so comfortable and soft the breakfast is the best I have ever seen in a hotel in the world what ever food you want they have it and 7 star all clean and tasty the staff can't do enough for you The pool on the 29floor is a must see and the bar restaurant on the 30th floor has the views ...

The hotel was beautiful and a decent price considering Rayong is an expensive area. The pool was gorgeous and not too crowded. The hotel is also across from the ocean and the beach is very soft with very little rocks. However, my group had car trouble and were completely stranded at the hotel. There was absolutely nothing to do after dinner other than swim. There wasn'...

This hotel was one of the best deals I've ever stayed. It's on a steep hill which makes it difficult upon arrival and/or elderly and limited mobility people but staff helped me upon arrival and departure. It's on a quiet and beautiful beach yet only a few minutes away to the busy Sai Kaew Beach for night attraction seekers and you can have all you need within walk...

The hotel was new, clean, and good for stay. Ao Pai location was beautiful and the Jeap restaurant at the front was nice. It was a bit far to get from our room to the beach and a bit of climbing steps but we didn't mind. ***However, my partner got bitten by a stray dog belongs to the paddle board renter (S.U.P) who is just next door to the hotel*** They hove more th...

The location of this hotel is opposite the Rayong Resoirt and Spa Retreat, who organised our boat ride over to Le Vimarn Cottages & Spa. The convenience was perfect, on arrival the beaches were immediatly noticed to be perfect, which white fluffly sand and no trash/polution as can be seen on some other area's. The staff were fantastic, and very friendly - On leaving ...

I took a long weekend away with my teenage son and had a great time. The room was spacious and had a great view. The Hotel is not advertised as 5 Star Hotel but it fell right in line with it's 3 star rating. We had a great time in the huge swimming pool and had a drive out into Rayong. Food was great when we ordered room service. I would recommend this place if you...

The Mae Pim Resort Hotel was a great hotel straight across the road from the beach. Scooter hire just down the road 200 meters with a 7/11 staff were very helpful when they could, but maybe would help if someone could speak a bit more English. Staff even dropped us of at the bus station 18 kilometres away. Great place to eat is The Kitchen about a Kilometre heading bac...

I had stayed at Samet ville a number of years ago and had enjoyed my stay there then as well as this time. I even recognized one of the friendly staff who is still working there. Nice quiet beach and can walk 15 minutes down the road to see sunset. Was able to make it on time for the 10 am ferry at Ban phe pier after taking an overnight bus from Chiangmai to Rayong. M...

I really liked the room we stayed in, the room is quiet narrow but very modern and clean. We did not eat here so cannot grade the food. We arrived late at night so was checked in via security so did not really deal with the staff as well but security were very helpful. This part of Rayong is very quiet and a long way from the bars and restaraunts but we had a car so wa...

We were very pleased that we chose the island to be our honeymoon destination. It's only a few hours drive from Bangkok. And when we arrived there, we truly did enjoy the breathtaking views of the sea. The white sandy beach was clean and we were able to swim in. The best part for us was the privacy of the location. You can only hear the sound of the sea and of your com...

This hotel was beautiful and worthy of its 4 stars- we also stayed at the sister hotel which is 1 star at the best but is by the best beach on the island- do not confuse the two as you will be very disappointed. Great staff, rooms that were comfy and classy, fab decor and garden Design- would stay here again but never again at Lima coco absolute rip off.

This is probably the best hotel in Rayong. The rooms are large and very comfortable. It's across the street from the beach which is filled with food carts and makeshift restaurants. Note that it's really not a beach for laying on or swimming. The breakfast buffet was wonderful.
Cheap places to stay in Rayong Province

Great location. Quiet rooms, that are private. Some rooms have balconys, all rooms have WIFI. The room we stayed in needed a better bed or bed frame. Bathroom is a small wet room, which is normal in Thailand. Staff was relaxed and accomodating. Very affordable for its location. Many bars and restaurants in the area. Close to the beach.

Great Budget BASIC Hotel, Staff very friendly and attentive and extremely helpful, bit out of the way but then there is not a great deal to do in Rayong! Hotel is a bit hard to find but overall clean and safe with great air con, good German Bar 5 mins up the road, would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Just about all upside. I woukd definitely return. + bright, squeaky clean modern large room + great value at less than 500 baht + endless food and drink options within 10 minutes walk as well as a Seven + motorbike rental just across the street. Good people reliable bike 300 baht per day + beach is walkable. Long and hot though - the staff use the reception lobby ...

My boyfriend and I are cycling touring and this was a perfect stop for us. I was not expecting much for the price but I was very happy to find how nice these little villas were. The WiFi was excellent and the a/c worked very well. It was also nice to have a cold fridge. This spot was very quiet and peaceful. It is about 8 km out of the city and there are convenience st...

needed a convenient place to stay near chantaburi and discovered this place. reviews were so good, we had to try it. what a great place!! rooms are absolutely spotless and the bathroom really beautiful. we don't often find even much higher rated hotels to be as clean and thoughtfully appointed the owner, an expat in thailand almost 30 years, explained that every...

I just needed a sleepover during work in Rayong and decided to try this hotel out. Turns out it was a good stay, a really decent one that went for a really humble price, for a really simple much needed rest and sleep. There will be no amenities to greet you, there will be no nearby conveniences within walking distance. But that said, it was a really quiet rural neighbo...

There is no breakfast that comes with your booking. The ladder was a bit challenging to climb for me, but the bed was nice, towel was included with a bottle of water. 500 baht for the key deposit was a bit too steep for me. But for 500 baht per night, this place isn't so bad. Location is walking distance from the pier and to the beach.

Really nice, new, clean hotel complete with everything you need when staying in Ban Chang! Affordable, quiet and modern! For almost no money at all you get a king size bed, large fridge, a balcony, AC and excellent wifi! 5 minutes walk to restaurants and a couple of music clubs! Couldn't be happier with the place, top 2 of the hotels I've stayed in when visiting Thaila...

Although, this is an older style hotel (slightly noisy AC), it is very clean with all amenities working properly. A basic breakfast was included in our deal and all the staff were friendly and helpful. There are several eating options nearby as well as convenience stores. A Tesco Lotus Mall is closely as is the Star night market.

Stayed a few nights at Miss Hong House. The family is extremely nice, the house is located on a quiet corner of the city and the room was exactly no-frills as we wanted. For the price don't expect the five-stars like the resort down the street, you do receive a warm smile and hello everyday and two really friendly dogs to pet. Perfect for people looking to have a li...

Like many hotels in Ban Chang, this hotel uses plastic mattresses. And no mattress pad, so you're sleeping on a thin sheet on plastic. This is very uncomfortable. The window is a small window over the balcony door, too high to see out of, so feels like a windowless room. The photos of the room are deceiving, the room does not look like the photo.... No bedstand, no la...

Sorry this is a bit of a repeat... I wasn't that happy on the 1st night. Slow check in, hit me up for another person in my room (I forgot the Thai's did this) 39 TV channels all in Thai. And a problem with the air con. However the longer I stayed the more I appreciated the hotel It was good value for the size of the room the standard of cleanliness and the cost of the...

My husband and I stayed in a triple room (doubles were not available) and we paid e60/ night. Room was clean, AC quiet, there was a small balcony. Location - 15min walk to the beach and 5min to the main street with shops. The only inconvenience was noise (apologies but not sure about the source, sounded like radio broadcast. It wasn't played from the hotel but in the ...

Olly is a great host, very friendly and made sure everyone had enough air con and that the hostel was clean at all times. Made the effort to learn and remember each guests name which was a nice touch. He also provided suggestions on places to go for dinner that did not disappoint. I like how the dorms are laid out with sliding doors, gives that extra layer of privacy a...

The hotel is very new in the entertainment area of Rayong. However the hotel situated in a small narrow road and hind behind other building (shop house). It is advisable to call the hotel for exact location. The room is clean and comfortable; due to brand new. The reception counter was still not fully completed; but the staff was trying their best.

The hotel seems to be brand new and the rooms were very nice and really clean. Also it is close to two local markets (one food and one night market) which is the highlight of Rayong. The staff had a little bit of an attitude but we found this sort of funny and they were friendly enough once we talked to them.

Best value for money in the area. They have a few properties (5 I think) so worth checking which one. I stayed in Runa Runa 3 which had good size doubles with AC and nice balconies. Staff friendly and laundry service good. Well located on the main ‘town’ strip of the island. Would stay here again if I return - overall the quality of accommodation on the island is not g...

This hotel located on the eastern outskirts of Rayong just off Sukhumvit Road is clean and comfortable. The staff are very nice and helpful. It does not have brilliant vistas but if you are in Rayong or the surrounding area for business and have a car then this place is a good buy. No restaurant but it has a 7/11 and food stalls (in the evening). There is a laundry...

This is a small boutique hotel miles away from Rayong so ideally a car is necessary, but that applies equally to the larger hotels further along the coast. The hotel has only 18 rooms, consequently the facilities are appropriate to the size. For us it was perfect. The pool and sea are clean, there are no beach sellers and there are no high rise hotels or apartments in...

This was one where I was so reluctant to leave on my business trips. The others, some, I can’t wait for morning to come and check out. For their weekday price, for the comfort level and functionality of the room, for the name Centara, it was an extremely worth well bargain. I will not get such matching levels of services, amenities and enjoyment of being pampered by a ...

I've stayed at this Rayong hotel for many times since I was very young. I love the atmosphere. The location is just the best and the staff are lovely and service-minded. The price is definitely a bit too high, would only be there when there's promotion :)

i went to this hotel for my customer's wedding. i spent 1 night there. the hotel is great location where is located opposite food market. the main building is quite old, but they have been just expanded new building at the back where is modern decoration and new furniture. complete all amenities inside the room. this is a good choice if you are looking for a hotel...

It is my first time that i chose to stay here. I would say among hotels that i have been around the world this is one of the best hotel! It was my first time in Rayong so i completely have no idea about good seafood restaurants or cheap local market place so i told this to staffs there ,they suggested me so many places to try out. I'm glad that this kind of service stil...

it's about 5 minutes drive to the beach and 2.50 hours drive from bangkok. the restaurant's atmosphere and food are great, but a little pricey. the rooms are clean and new, surprisingly no mosquito in the room. the room downstairs got balcony with nice natural greenery view. the water park is quite great for kids at all ages, especially for kids above 5 years old...

I had gone through many hotel reviews of many hotels in Rayong, found out this place had the most positive reviews so I booked and decided to stay at this place. I was not disappointed at all. The hotel is nice, exterior and interior designs are perfect for such prices, also, the maids had done their jobs well. The only thing that was not quite satisfy was the breakf...

We could stay there for a day only. Mom got injured so we had to return. the staff was very helpful. They immidiately arranged a wheel chair and even set up an appointment with a doctor. One important tip "never go to thailand without insurance" breakfast spread was good especially for non vegitarians. No good beach in Rayong. Some good local beaches are around 25min. ...

New Building , Clean and nice Room , Morning Buffet have many kind of food. Dinner and Restaurant really Good , Recommend for who come to visit Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate (Rayong), Location very near to the big CK Plaza Department Store 400-500 m. Good Hotel and nice staff.

Rooms are fabulously appointed with everything you could need, however there were a couple of glitches. The breakfast was very poor, the hot water was warm at best, and it was a long way from anything. This hotel is in a little village called Ban Chang, which is located in the PROVINCE of Rayong, not the City of Rayong, which caused much confusion for the driver tryi...

This was a great place to relax and sit by the pool. We went into the town of Rayong (30 minutes by hotel van)to a shopping center that was OK (had the usual chains like KFC, Starbucks and McDonald's). The hotel had minimal information about local attractions; it was expensive to get transport there.

We went to Rayong quite often but just found this hotel. It's easily the best in the Mae Pim area so far. We liked almost everything, from pool, scene, garden, decoration, restaurant, and private beach. Services are also above average. We will definitely go there again soon.

I typically stay at the Kameo Grand when I have business in the Rayong area. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean but basic with little or no frills. The hotel layout is odd however this is manageable. The workout facility is dated but the equipment is in acceptable condition. The workout facility hours are too short since it opens at 6:00 ...

i stayed here for short term business, I feel interpark's room is very new, clean, and decoration is very modern. Bed is large, I can comfortably roll over on the bed. The only thing that they should improve is the variety of foods. Otherwise, everything is great. I definitely will come back here again, and recommend friends to stay here. Many times I need help, they a...

Located near the beach. Clean and comfortable place to stay for group of friends and family. There are kitchen tools and grill, karaoke and TV. Two bed in each bedroom and 2 extra beds. Worth the money but you do need a car or motorcycle since the distance from the main road to the house is not walkable.
Luxury hotels in Rayong Province

The resort has private white sand beaches, from which you go snorkling, canoeing, or just relax and enjoy the peace. It is only about 20 minutes by speed boat from Rayong Baan Pae pier. Excellent staff throughout the resort, clearly well trained. New hotel with every facility you could want. Restaurant is reasonably priced, usually you get stung on meal prices but £10 for a superb evening buffet was exceptional value for money. More about Rayong Province
Discovering the Hidden Gems of Rayong Thailand
Rayong, often overshadowed by its more famous neighbors, is a treasure trove of hidden gems waiting to be explored. Beyond the bustling beaches and tourist hotspots, this charming province offers an array of lesser-known attractions that provide a glimpse into the authentic Thai experience. For those seeking to escape the crowds, Rayong is the perfect destination to discover serene landscapes, local markets, and unique cultural sites.
One of the must-visit spots is the HTMS Prasae Memorial, a fascinating site dedicated to the naval history of Thailand. Located near the tranquil waters of Prasae Bay, this memorial features a retired naval ship and offers insights into the region's maritime past. Visitors can stroll along the waterfront and enjoy the peaceful ambiance while learning about the significance of the site. Another hidden gem is Yom Jinda Road, the charming old town of Rayong. Here, you can wander through narrow lanes lined with traditional wooden houses, quaint shops, and local eateries, giving you a taste of the town's rich history and culture.
If you're in the mood for some outdoor adventure, head to Tung Prong Thong, a stunning mangrove forest that showcases the natural beauty of Rayong. This ecological wonder is perfect for leisurely walks along wooden pathways, where you can observe various bird species and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The area is also great for photography, especially during sunset when the sky transforms into a palette of vibrant colors. Exploring these hidden gems not only enriches your travel experience but also allows you to connect with the local culture in a meaningful way.
Top Reasons to Fall in Love with Rayong
Rayong is a captivating destination that has something for everyone. One of the standout features is its pristine beaches, often less crowded than those in neighboring provinces. Sai Kaew Beach is a local favorite, known for its soft white sand and crystal-clear waters, making it ideal for sunbathing, swimming, or simply relaxing with a good book. For a more secluded experience, Ao Prao offers a tranquil escape, where you can unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of the coastline.
Beyond its stunning beaches, Rayong boasts a vibrant local culture that is sure to enchant visitors. The annual Rayong Fruit Festival is a highlight, celebrating the region's bountiful harvest with delicious offerings and lively festivities. You can indulge in fresh tropical fruits, sample local delicacies, and immerse yourself in traditional Thai music and dance. This festival not only showcases the region's agricultural richness but also provides a fantastic opportunity to mingle with locals and experience their warm hospitality.
Another reason to love Rayong is its culinary scene. The area is renowned for its fresh seafood, and dining here is a delightful experience. From beachside shacks serving grilled prawns to upscale restaurants offering gourmet dishes, the variety is impressive. Don’t miss the chance to try the local specialty, pla rad prik (fried fish with chili sauce), which perfectly encapsulates the flavors of Thai cuisine. With so much to offer, Rayong is a destination that will leave travelers with unforgettable memories.
When to Experience the Best of Rayong
Timing your visit to Rayong can greatly enhance your experience, as the province enjoys a tropical climate with a distinct wet and dry season. The best time to visit is during the dry season, which runs from November to February. During these months, you can expect pleasant temperatures, clear skies, and minimal rainfall, making it perfect for beach outings and outdoor activities. This is also when many tourists flock to the area, so booking accommodations in advance is advisable to secure the best deals.
For those interested in experiencing local culture, consider planning your trip around the Rayong Fruit Festival, typically held in May. This vibrant celebration showcases the region's agricultural bounty and offers a unique opportunity to indulge in local flavors while enjoying traditional performances. Additionally, the King Taksin Memorial Day in December is another significant event, commemorating the revered king with parades and cultural displays. Visiting during these festivals allows travelers to witness the local traditions and engage with the community.
While the dry season is ideal for outdoor adventures, the wet season from June to October has its own charm. Although rain is more frequent, the landscapes are lush and vibrant, and the beaches are less crowded. This is a great time for budget travelers to find excellent deals on accommodations and enjoy a more tranquil atmosphere. Just be sure to pack an umbrella and be flexible with your plans, as sudden showers can occur. Regardless of when you choose to visit, Rayong's beauty and charm are sure to captivate you.
