Negros Occidental hotels & places to stay

Stylish and vibrant, modern and hip..certainly, it's the Avenue Suites! The newest addition in Bacolod's downtown. Its location is perfect for sight-seeing, dining and night life. Famous nearby attractions are the Negros Museum, the Negros Showroom, the old Negros Provincial Capitol, the Negros Occidental Capitol Park and Lagoon and the Negros Forest and Ecological Foundation Inc. It's also readily accessible to Bacolod's famous gastronomic places such as Manokan Country, Bob's Restaurant, Pepe's Restaurant and Bar, Chicken Deli, and the heaven of cakes..Calea. It's also near Piazza Sorrento, where you can delight your night with a drink and good music. The hotel per se is a pleasant place to stay. They have spacious and very comfortable rooms. Staff always wear their smiles regardless of the time of the day. The Bacolod's way of life, sweetness and smiles, indeed extended by the hotel.

I like this hotel. The sheets and towels were clean and I think this is because the hotel is new. I hope they can maintain this so they'd be better than the other 3-star or even 4-star hotels in Bacolod. I always check the towels! I'm generally impressed. They have a bidet, which is not common in the Philippines. I'm always happily surprised when I see one. The maximum water temperature of the hot shower was not hot enough. It was the right temperature for me but I know there might be people who prefer a scalding hot shower. The lobby was nice and it was modern. I arrived at around 1:30pm but I was made to wait until close to 2pm before they could check me in - I understand this but this is not the usual practice of hotels in the Philippines, most would just accommodate you as soon as your room was available. I just noticed there was no visible security personnel in the middle of the night, but I hope there was one around. The walls were pretty thin. I can hear the tv on the next room, the banging of the doors in all the rooms in the hallway and the housekeeping people. There was complimentary water and coffee - something not very common in hotels in Bacolod. I didn't get to eat the breakfast because I woke up late. I would recommend this hotel. Cheaper, better and cleaner than most.

This hotel is new, and as expected all facilities are in excellent condition. Very good value for money as all that we needed in our stay were all there. Excellent location as everything that we need to go to is just within walking distance. The best of the best though is the excellent service. The staff from start to the end of our stay, were all very courteous and very helpful. We forgot to notify the hotel before our stay regarding our special diet, but when we told them about it, the chef did provide a very nice option that we were very thankful for. Would gladly recomend this hotel to my family and friends.

Conveniently located near SM Bacolod, this hotel is suitable for spending a day or two in the capital of Negros Occidental. Staff are friendly and hotel room is clean. Wifi is available but connection constantly times out when you reach a certain amount of usage. You have to connect to another wifi network again which is a tad bit annoying. Acceptable speed Internet speed. Spent a night here as I was catching an early morning flight to Manila. Concierge arranged for my airport transfer. Will not hesitate to book again.

i was happy with planta centro because of their bathroom amenities. they had toothbrush, comb and shower cap which i thought was not typical in 3- or 4-star hotels. but i was really frustrated when i saw only one towel! they did not even have any face or hand towel. i don't understand why they are saving on towels when they did not have a lot of guests that night. i've read reviews about the lack of towels here but i never thought it was this bad. i'm starting to think that it's their standard of only putting one towel in every room, even if you booked for two people. also, the bedside lamp was not working and the air conditioning felt warm even at its coldest setting. i do not complain to the staff. i complain in silence because not only i am extremely shy, but i also think that it is the responsibility of the hotel to make their rooms feel good to stay in. another plus point is they had slippers. my friends were complaining on how thin and small they were, but to me it was fine. at least they were thoughtful enough to provide slippers for guests. the hotel was fine overall, no other ugly incidents happened. the receptionist immediately corrected an error she made - she asked me for a down payment (which i initially thought was a deposit for incidentals) when i booked through agoda. the guards were really friendly and helpful in calling a cab. the hotel is not pricey and a more affordable option than l fisher, but it's old. it was okay for me, but my friends kept complaining about it. and again, they only seem to have one towel per room.

I enjoyed staying in Circle Inn! It was very close to the function we had to attend to. They have a friendly staff. The room is very clean and it smelled nice. It was close to a mini-grocery store which I really liked. A walk around the area was nice too, if you like knowing the history of the local streets specially why a part of cemetery was in the middle of the street. There are local diners too if you need to eat, very affordable "karinderia type" (local diner without A/C). Western Negros University is just a walk away. The public market is near too.

Nature's Village Resort is owned by the Governor's (Negros Occidental) sister so you can imagine you get some of the best amenities. The Superior room in which we stayed was over-sized, quiet and very comfortable. The entire resort is well designed with a charming modern rustic feel incorporated with an abundance of local and international art to please your senses. The restaurant was our biggest surprise. It is quite literally a five star eatery. The free breakfast each morning is what you would expect to pay top dollar (peso) for anywhere else. The resort, on a large property of natural surroundings, has something for everyone. There's a park for relaxing, throwing a party or holding a function. Two pools, one for all ages, one for the little tots. The larger has a nice waterfall and slide. There are well designed and appointed mud huts on the back of the property. If you want to live like upscale Flintstones during your stay, then book a clay hut. Lastly. Nature's Village is centrally located in the city of Talisay between Bacolod-Silay International Airport and downtown Bacolod. About a seven minute trip to Bacolod City and onward to other points of interest. Nature's Village is a real gem.

It is an old hotel along Lacson St., so I don't have to walk far to get a ride. It is within walking distance to SM malls. If you travel for business it is a convenient location to go. Though the room lights are not meant for working. Internet connection is ok. If you travel with a senior citizen it may not be so convenient without an elevator. For comfort, the bed with comforter is ok, but pillows are small and limited to just one per bed. Sheets are very clean and white and room cleaning is done everyday. Towels are NOT soft and fluffy, the water heater sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. The package I got did not include complimentary bottled water, coffee or tea or newspaper and breakfast. Most hotels in Bacolod already offer that as part of the package for about the same price. The hotel does not accept credit card for payment of room service orders, though I booked using my credit card through Agoda. Initially, I was asked if I will pay through cash or card, and when I said card, I was later told I can only pay in cash. I was told the same at the front desk upon checkin. I didn’t mind at that time, I can pay anyway. But reflecting on it now, I do not understand why the hotel imposes different policies on guests. It could have been more convenient if you can just swipe and go. I booked a REGULAR room and just forget about it after I've done the booking. I expected to get what I booked for when I get there. I checked back now as I write this review on the room features published, as those were the major considerations for my choice of hotel. I just realized now that for two instances (my first booking and now), the room I got did not provide the features they published. NO refrigerator and NO hair dryer. If you are keen on getting what you paid for, remember to check that all conveniences are in place. Hopefully, you wont end up in a difficult argument.

We stayed at Luxur place for just one night, but if we hadn't had a flight the next day we would have been very happy to stay longer. For the price the hotel was excellent value with exceptional service. Free internet, plus a kettle and hair dryer promptly brought to our room upon request. It's little things like that, that really make your stay at a hotel. They have a large clean open pool which is open 24 hours!! I've actually never come across a hotel with a 24 hour pool. As for location it's very slightly out of the main town area with the malls and restaurants etc. but we just took a Jipney (local Philippino bus costing only 8 pesos each - about 5 / 10 minutes. Then as it was getting late we took a cab back for 65 PHP. I have been using a lonely planet travel guide whilst in the Philippines and it doesn't rate Bacolod as a particularly exciting city. However in life it's always best to find out for yourself! And I really liked it. I preferred it to other cities including Cebu, as it's a lot more vibrant and diverse. I loved the buzz of the local food markets in contrast to the large luxury shopping malls. Highly recommend Luxur place as the hotel to stay at, to enjoy this great city!

My husband and I recently had a short vacation at Sipalay City, Negros Occidental, and we stayed at this German-managed resort eight kilometers from the city center. For the price we paid per night for our standard room, we were very impressed with the resort's facilities, service of all its personnel, location by the sea and even the quality of its in-house restaurant. The facilities were well-maintained and thoroughly cleaned in every corner, and our room had complete amenities that included our own portable WiFi router (which we were able to bring while going around Sipalay), plus the thoughtful inclusion of a shower heater and strategically located areas for drying our wet clothes. As for the resort's personnel, we appreciated how everyone was helpful and fluent in both Filipino and English. Even the resort's owner was seen daily, and was very friendly to guests. On the other hand, the location of the resort by the sea made it more charming as each of our meals had a wonderful view of the sunset and the area's nearby islands. Lastly, we were very happy with the European menu of their in-house restaurant, and this is the first time that we can say we were very satisfied with the breakfast set meal selection given to guests. We have traveled quite extensively around the country, and this was a rare instance that we got to enjoy high-quality seafood, homemade bread and Swiss rosti to start each day of our vacation.

First, location is great! Pasalubong stores, coffee shops as well as the Provincial Capitol are just a few walks away. Very accessible also to PUVs. I've recently been to Masskara festival, and i felt like a local because of its easy to access to everything. :) Second, our room is clean. I love the fact that they changed bedsheets, blankets, pillow cases and towels daily even without request. Unlike to other hotels you have to request for housekeeping to change linens. At Pleasant, they knock on your door and do the changes even without request. Good job! Third, the price is cheap. Though no breakfast is included, they offer breakfast for as low as 80 pesos with brewed coffee. :) If i'll visit again Bacolod, will definitely book to this hotel again. :)

We arrived early morning (around 6:00AM) in Bacolod, flying from Manila. The standard hotel check-in is at 2:00PM, knowing this, I emailed the hotel a few days prior to request for an early check-in time. As a traveler, I know that early check-ins would either get you to shell out some extra money or you get it for free at a designated time. When the hotel replied, the cleared the room a day prior to make sure that it is available by the time we check-in. The cost of the request? FREE. Yep, FREE! So we checked-in at 7:00AM and checked-out the following day at 4:00PM, with no additional cost -- except for the beer we ordered. In normal occasions, the time we have spent in the hotel requires us to book for two nights already... but it wasn't the case! Really, happy! And oh, we got a room with access to the Mediterranean Pool. Aaaaahhhhhhh best overnight stay ever!!!!!!!!!! Thank you, Palmas!

The room i booked was spaceous and has the all the basics. Wifi connection is fast and strong i could actually make a conference call. It is super near to SM Bacolod, cathedral, wet and dry market and city plaza. I also walked from the hotel to Negros Museum. The bad: Water from bidet came out black because of sands. Like the room was never been used for a very long time. The exposed surfaces are clean just pray that none of your things fall under the bed. Also make sure to run your used cups to faucet. The place easily gets invaded by ants. Bottled water isn't free as usual in other hotel. Don't use the bidet. Foot rugs are tattered. Towel smells good but very very hard. No hotel slippers.

During our visit to the island of Negros Occidental we stayed at 3 different hotels, I must say that the "O" hotel was superior when compared to the others. They were the only hotel to offer in room coffee. Complimentary bottled water was in our room everyday and the staff went out of thier way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. The rooms were very clean and equal to the U.S. hotels we are used to staying in. The food was great. Every morning I recieved a complimentary breakfast. Late night snacks can be ordered from room service (try the pizza). Our room had a mini refrigerator so we went to a local market and stocked some sodas and juice. The other hotels we stayed at were more expensive and did not offer the same amenities as the "O". Don't waste your time and money on the others. Just book your stay at the "O" hotel and your trip will be a good one. Our thanks to the staff for making us feel at home.

3Sep2011...On my 1st visit to Bacolod City, Negros Occ. Philippines, after a long absence... I searched the web for a hotel very near the city plaza and San Sebastian Church. This brought me to a new (over a year) boutique hotel 190m from the city plaza and (250m) San Sebastian Cathedral...510m to SM Mall Bacolod. The Suites at Calle Nueva ( 20 rooms, low rise) at the corner of Nueva St. and Locsin St. I was pleasantly surprised to find this hotel (2 star) to be very clean and my room had almost all of the things I looked for a good night sleep. The staff were courteous and helpful. the place was sunny. My room had cool aircon, LED cable tv, land line phone, hot water bath, clean beddings, clean towels, toilet supplies like soap, shampoo, toothbrush..paste... etc. there is a bidet, hair dryer, sleepers, ample towel racks, very clean tiles and toilet bowl. The bed was comfy and clean ... no bedbugs or smelly body odor of former occupants. The was luggage sofa... and clean curtains to block the sunlight. The cabinet was clean with ample hangers. The dinning area is small and accommodating. Wifi was free and was only good for email and web browsing. Breakfast was included and buffet. And were signage for safety and house rules. There was a bible in the drawer. The hallway was clear and clean with lots of cctv cams... feel safe... and most of all the staff were trustworthy. A guest who left came back and was able to get back an electronic accessory. I will certainly come back to this hotel in the days to come.

The price is very cheap, so that has to be taken into account when reviewing and scoring. The complex itself is actually quite nice and spacious. It's kind of an oasis. The room was simple and I could nitpick on certain things like very low water pressure and a roach encounter, but really for the price you can't complain as the bedding is very clean, water is provided and there is also a balcony. The restaurant is ok and its added value that breakfast is included. I have stayed in a few places over the years in Himamaylan / Kabankalan and this one is probably the best of the bunch.

My room for 2 days, I really enjoyed my stay here in this hotel Its like your just staying in one of the bedroom in your home, because outside your room was a dining/living/kitchen room all in one that you can use, I'm talking about there 2nd Floor Area where my room is, also It is a one jeepney ride going to some bacolod landmarks like SM Bacolod, Bacolod Lagoon, Negros Museum, The Famous Cake and Pastries of Calea, Bacolod Plaza and more, my only downside in this hotel is there shower room you will need to wait for a 20secs. water interval when using there shower or faucet, I dont know If that happens all the time but during my 2 days stay it is consistent, probably If I just complain It to the staff maybe they can fix it but sad to say I didn't complain at all. but none the less this hotel is a Budget-Friendly one. Sure to come back again when I revisit Bacolod.

Never a dull moment when my family and I stayed at Sugarland Hotel for a week. My family and I enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Its a dream come true after ten years that I haven't been to Bacolod City, I finally came to stay at my "dream hotel" in Negros Occidental, Philippines. My family and I had a great time and we cherished every moment of every day of our stay and we'll definitely recommend Sugarland Hotel globally since the overall package was excellent. I wasn't actually expecting such an experience as we booked La Vista Highlands Mountain Resort. It is a wonderful hotel in a beautiful location, with amazing rooms and fantastic bathrooms, the pool area is beautiful and has nice little bar; it is hard to describe how wonderful this place is. There is a calm and beauty that is remarkable (except when loud outside guests with day passes arrive at the swimming pool). The views are wonderful and the gardens are extremely well kept, walking the grounds is a dream. Great breakfast, all the staff very friendly and helpful - excellent service. The owner’s sister Boot volunteered showing us around Bacolod for a whole day (watch out: they don’t have spare keys of the rooms, so make sure you leave your key with the hotel staff when you go out, allowing them to clean your room while you are out). I can recommend this to families as well as couples looking for a relaxing and very romantic break.

The house is a a bit old but stylish. Nagstay kami ng one night sa 1st Floor because of our 2 days trip in Bacolod. Nakakabitin ang stay namin dito. I forgot her name pero nagrant nya ung request kong lipat kami ng room so thank you . Spacious ang room at comfy ang bed. Sobrang bait ng staff, approachable at very accomodating. Over all we enjoyed our stay in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

The room we booked for 2 pax is very cheap plus with breakfast. But the WIFI is only at the 2F (we were at 3F). We arrived at night, and the hotel at first was quite difficult to find because you need to walk in a small lane / street, but good this is there were lots of restaurants around the area . I highly recommend this hotel for those who will be staying in Bacolod! Staffs are really nice, and they even helped us booked a taxi for our trip to Silay! And for itenerary - you can ride a tricycle going to The Ruins, and a taxi going to Silay for the Balaring Mangrove and old heritage houses.

Great location by Manokan Country and SM City. Strong wifi, best so far I've had on a one month trip in Philippines other than in Manila. No free breakfast, but a decent one in hotel lobby. Good choice for business travelers because of lobby and strong wifi. Hotel is older and it is showing its age in some ways (corks stands a remodel), but functional and an excellent value.

This hotel is actually called the Jamont hotel so you may be confused when you arrive. I got the bus from Dumaguete and the hotel is right next to the bus terminal. I made the mistake of booking a single room with a fan and regret not upgrading. The other rooms that I was shown when I checked out were fantastic and not so expensive. The swimming pool is really large and kept very clean. A guy was clearing leaves all day. The hotel is right on the beautiful sandy beach, when I was there I had the beach to myself. I had dinner both nights of my visit and the food was very good and reasonably priced. Would definitely return but choose a better room.

Using the Tamera Plaza Inn as our base for exploring Negros Occidental was a very reasonable choice and the staff was very Accommodating making our stay there very enjoyable. The room was small and there was no elevator but we weren't planning to stay around the hotel all day anyway, the room was clean and quiet and since we were only there at night it was a very reasonably place to hang our hat.

hotel location is walking distance to dining and entertainment facilities, 24hr convenient stores, casino. located in golden fields with plenty of taxis waiting to pick up passengers throughout the day. did not feel unsafe walking around late at night around the compound outside the hotel during period of stay despite being the first trip. would prefer the room to come with a safe rather than at the reception desk. no tissue paper only toilet paper. still remember checked in 10.00pm night but was intially assigned a room with loud airconditioner noise, but have no difficulty at all to move another room when the problem was raised with front desk. hotel manager is responsive and very helpful.

Arrived early. 12.15. Early check in not a problem. All staff very helpful. Had a great 3 hr snorkeling trip. Coral reefs and ship wreck. Sea view room great. Meals on the balcony. Great food. Nice sand beach for swimming. Would be the best place to stay in Sipalay. Best to have your own transport as is out of town then boat ride to hotel. Good safe carpark. Would recommend and am going to go back.
