WiFi was terrible - constant disconnects, speed maybe 3/10, requires repeated logins with individual code given by reception. Excellent location - 85 steps from front of property to the dive shop. Although it’s nothing BUT steps once you’re on the property - no elevator, about 250 steps uphill going from front of property to the room. They have a restaurant (Tamarind) off-property with fast WiFi and EXCELLENT spicy spareribs. Maid service was fantastic - they found a lost airline ticket (I didn’t need it anymore but they had no way of knowing that) and put it in the light switch box so I would be sure to see it. If I had needed it it would have been a lifesaver. Staff is very friendly, constant “hello”. The hotel specialty nachos really aren’t good though - stale chips with ground beef on top. Mediocre at best. Maybe 5 minutes walking time from nightlife. Great swimming pool. The only real con is the slow, crappy WiFi.

I booked it based on stars and the fact that it is touted to be a spa with great cuisine. The Spa " creeped me out" my gf said ....:( we never saw anyone avail the use of the spa. The fusion cuisine of Europe and Aisa was odd..... The pasta served Luke warm :( The sandwiches a gooey mess But... If you love Filipino food your in heaven My GF said it was the best Sisig she had ever had The pinakbet and sinigang were to die for So just stick to basic fare This place could be a five star hotel. The buildings and grounds support this Sadly the mind set of the majority of the staff is stuck in a " I'm from the province " mode

A perfect stay...one minor issue was resolved quickly. Owner Gavin has a great thing going here. He lets the amazing staff run this place with the up-most care and respect for you, the guest. So, I stayed at the very top Penthouse level. Climb to the room is worth it...each climb gets easier. What a great view. My room was 1st class, great bath/shower with good pressure and hot water. Well stocked 4' high frig. Pool area is not massive but, most days you will have the pool to yourself so it's not an issue. This place is new/modern and very hard to leave. Food and drinks are among the best I had on my 10 day stay... I extended my stay for a few more days. Hats off to Gavin and the amazing staff, I had a wonderful experience!

We stayed 2 nights over the Easter weekend, March 2016. The trip by road from Manila to Batangas Port, followed by the ferry trip to Sabang, was long and tiring due to the heavy holiday weekend crowds. However, we immediately forgot about the awful trip as soon as we arrived at Lalaguna Villas. Check in was quick and efficient, with complimentary refreshments served while we completed the formalities. Our room on level 5 was delightful. It was nicely appointed, with a large balcony overlooking the South China Sea, a very nice lounge, and a first class king size bed similar to what you would expect in a 5 star hotel. The one downside (also mentioned in other reviews) is that you have a long climb up 5 flights of steps (or 6, 7 or 8 flights if the accommodation is on the upper levels) The staff told us that an elevator is planned in the future, and will operate from level 3 up to level 8. We found all the staff to be very service orientated. Overall a very pleasant and relaxing experience. We will definitely return.

I always stay here when I go to Mindoro. I personally like this place because the bathroom is large. I just don't like small bathrooms even if they are pretty clean. The only problem I had this time is that the toilet didn't always flush properly so I had to add water to the tank manually, and the shower's water wasn't always hot enough. But overall especially considering the price this place is well worth it for me. It's clean and the service is good, nice staff.

It's really good placed. 진짜 좋은 위치에 있습니다. It's close from the pier but there's no bad smell. 항구에서 가까이에 있으면서도 비린내가 나거나 하지도 않고 좋아요. Only 5 min. 항구에 내려 5분이면 걸어가는 거리입니다. 배에서 내려서 왼쪽 길따라 가면 바로 나옵니다. Also it's easy to find. When we go on a Banka to Mindoro island , we can see the blue resort. 찾기도 쉬어요. 방카타고 민도로섬 들어갈때 눈앞에 파란색 리조트가 멀리서도 바로 보입니다. Ate and manong are really kind and have good service mind. 아떼랑 마농들도 진짜 친절하고 좋은 서비스 마인드를 지녔습니다. Never uncomfotable. 절대 불편하지 않아요. Thanks for your service. 감사합니다.

Stayed in the VIP suite. It's brand new. Very nice. Private pool. Huge flat screen tv. Jacuzzi that wasn't working. Beautiful view from balcony with loungers and HUGE papasan chair. Restaurant is pricey, but that's Sabang. I will admit it was one of the best dinners I've ever had in the provinces. Fresh crab, great filet mignon ( Papas is a steakhouse too), nice bottle of Argentine Malbec. A word about Sabang, it's primarily for scuba diving base and finding a girlie at night. The beach is not swimable, yuk. I booked there to be close to the ferry pier to return to Batangas, but weather forced the cancellation of the wooden bangkas for 3 days so had to shuttle 1.5 hours to Calapan pier for larger ferry. The weather was bad so there's not much else to do there. Sabang great for scuba base, looking for a girlie, not much else.

This is a safe and good choice for international travellers. Although some rooms in resorts in the Philippines will be dusty or too old, the rooms at Oriental Sabang are not. The rooms are also pretty large, with room for queen size bed area, a refrigerator and TV area, and nicely separate bathroom. Lots of TV channels and no problems at all with reception or picture. Internet worked fine, mainly WIFI in restaurant area. Appears that all rooms look out to the sea, with a great view of Sabang Bay, as did ours. It really is quite beautiful and peaceful. The design of this place is wonderful, and beautiful. Three rooms on each terrace level, all with patios, and on the lowest floor is a very nice pool area, and restaurant area. The restaurant area is done in nice wood, and the pool is very clean. Our food was very good, esp the omelettes, which were very affordable!! Staff is a very strong aspect here also. While some people complain about resorts in the Philippines having no one around, this place is the opposite of that. There are always a few people around, either restaurant staff, or hotel desk staff, or housekeeping. They are generally busy all day, but they attend to your need immediately. The location is also very nice because it is not in the center of town but set off to the side somewhat. As a result, it is perfectly quiet in that area. Overall, a very strong place, with good, safe food, nice decor, a beautiful, clean pool, and very good staff, who are very ready to help their customers.

Value for money Room rate includes breakfast that the staff will serve at your preferred time that you can have al fresco, with a view of the swimming pool . Guests need not look for beach activities themselves as the staff will be the one to book them upon request, the price is the same or even lower than what is being offered to tourists in the main beach. Location It is a short 2-minute walk from the main beach, so guests get to have some privacy and quiet time away from the large White Beach crowd. Cleanliness Sheets smell of laundry soap and the room and bathroom were spotless when we checked-in. We were not allowed to check-in early or check-out late which is the reason for these. Staff Everyone was corteous and accommodating. Facilities The resort is a 2-star hotel so don’t expect 5-star hotel amenities. With that said, I believe the resort is one of the few in the White Beach area with a swimming pool.

Sunny beach is one of the best located hotel in mindoro. clean beach in front of the hotel, only 30 min walk along the beach to the white beach. Rooms ale very clean equipped with everything that you need. food is fantastic. I tried eating in the other restaurants and hotels but honestly their food is the best. the hotel staff is very helpful and caring for guests. They help me with everything... booked a trips, rent a skuter, arrange activities like fish feeding, underwater cave, coral garden, etc. Hotel have also free of charge kayaks which you can borrow for as long as you want. Hotel hase also great front yard with large swings and places to do lying down. You can also take a massage outside case they have oudside beds with can be fully cover

before booking we received from the management lots of information and photos; even a detailed description how to travel from manila and back. the trip by the way was very nice – a part with the bus and a part with the boat. the hotel driver fetched us from puerto galera. the rooms and other facilities were in very good shape and well maintained and cleaned. almost all rooms are beach front. our room was of the category deluxe. it has a good size and was equipped with s big bed, ceiling fan, aircon, closets etc. the bathroom is over average big and contains the closet. by the way, there is a higher category in the newest wing of the building. the resort offers free use of the swimming pool, sun beds, pool billiard, table tennis, table soccer and canoes. a gym and spa area was about to be finished. you can book on the spot massages, scuba diving lessons or rent diving or snorkelling equipment. the view to the front is the beautiful sea and to the back a mountain covered in clouds. the resort is built in a secluded way, so that the guests feel not disturbed by passersby. the hotel area offers different chairs, beds and hammocks for hanging out. in the area in front of the hotel, next to the beach bar (which is also the reception) there are also the tables to eat meals under the sky at the beach. the menu contains local as well as western food and beverages. the employees are very friendly and service oriented. most of the visitors we met were families with children or couples, some of the honeymooners. i found, children can play quite safe, also because the water in front of the hotel doesn’t get deep too rapidly. although the resort was well visited, we never experienced it as over crowded or noisy. several activities are possible like a hike to the near (1.5 hours hike one way) waterfall. the party place – white beach - is 5 minutes tricycle ride away. here you have all the bars and restaurants with music and shows on the beach.

Unlike the negative reviews here, my family enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The staff at the front desk greeted us with a smile when we arrived and all our queries were answered. Their marketing manager met us at Batangas Port, giving us further instructions in going to the hotel. Also, upon checkout, they assisted us in booking our return trip and in getting a tricycle which will bring us to Balatero Port. We didn't try their restaurant though as there are a lot of dining options to choose from along the White Beach shore. The room was big enough for a family of 5 and we did not have problems regarding the signal of TV cable. Mobile data has good coverage but similar with other hotels in the area, wifi is only available at the lobby/ restaurant area. Some points for improvement though - toiletries were not provided except for the bath towels and a tissue roll; water pressure is not enough to provide abundant supply of water for shower (which is understandable though due to the area).

The superior room at the Resort does not have a private balcony but it is shared. We stayed for 4 nights and be prepared for an influx of Korean tourists and locals on the weekend. Book early to avoid disappointment as this resort is highly sought after. We hardly spent in the room so it didn't matter that much that the bathroom is quite basic and falling apart in some places - it could do with a renovation. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very spacious. Aninuan beach is very clean and water quite nice to take a dip in. White beach is a short distance if you decide to traverse through some rocks, which is not as treacherous as you might think. Their pool is spectacular and cleaned everyday, and the Gym is probably one of the best I have used in all my travels and easily beats other 4/5 star hotel gyms in other Asian countries. The breakfast was very filling and I would recommend the local dishes. As a coffee lover though, I was quite disappointed with the coffee at brekkie. I have to commend Marvin on his excellent and courteous customer service during brekkie and dinner service. I will definitely be coming back here again.

as what the title said, me and my girlfriend felt so regretted when we realize we only booked here for just 1 night! And always been ask by my girlfriend if we could stay for another night regardless we already booked another room at white beach for the following day. We were greet warmly by the owner, Richard when he saw us walking to the resort.Then we were welcomed with a plate of complimentary welcoming fruits and drinks which is very lovely as we were exhausted from the trip from Makati to the resort. Also the Resort Manager, Paul , brief us about what can we do during our stay in Puerto Galera. while one of the staff, Marga, brief us about what can we do during our stay in Edgewater. To cut the remaining review short, The room - Tip Top comfort, just the soundproof are not that perfect. The facilities - they have spa and scuba diving, and also complimentary kayaking which me and my girlfriend enjoyed. The environment - perfect for a relaxing trip! enjoyed the starry night

Overall very good. As stated, hardworking dedicated staff very helpfull but seriously underpaid for the money Atlantis charges its guests to pay desk workers and cleaning staff 278 pesos per day! Mimimum wage in Puerto Galera/Mindoro Oriental. I've stayed at Atlantis several times but I don't see this hotel a 5 star accomodation. I would say a 3 star US standard, maybe a 5 star Philippine standard. My room was always clean thanks to the lovely attendant Becca who I heavily tipped at departure. Why a 3 star rating?? Every time I took a shower, the bathroom flooded, and the old heavily worn bamboo curtains didn't work properly, I had to tie them up physically. Tasks I would not have to put up with at a 5 Star Hotel.

I booked my stay as a gift to my girlfriend for her birthday. I found this place because of all the amazing reviews it had in the different websites. I looked at the pics and I have to admit I wasn't impressed, but I read many reviews and I thought: "So many people can't be mistaken". So I decided to book it. I just got back home this evening and I have to say that never in my life I have been more satisfied after staying in a place. The service is really amazing, very attentive and professional. The food is better than what you would find anywhere else and at an exceptional price. The view the pool and from other parts of the resort is breathtaking. The room is cozy, clean and has a massive TV. And, on top of that, they have a private beach right in front of a world class diving spot, where we were able to do one of the best snorkeling of our lives. This place is a perfect 10. I will keep going there with as much frequency as my bank account allows me. I really hope it never changes!

It was a place recommended to us by the PGYC where we were doing a weeks sailing course. Bit apprehensive as the resort was only 2 stars and the week stay including breakfast was the price off 1 nights stay in any city hotel. Checked out the rave reviews and booked it. From the moment we arrived we were looked after, bags taken from the trike to our room. Smiling happy and cute staff every where. Just a fun place to stay. Choice of I think 8 different breakfasts included and all freashly made. The only thing being a big lad is that the rooms could of been a few inches bigger. Watch out for the daily grass cutting ceremony .....

This by far is the best hotel i have stayed in puerto galera. The beach is right infront of you when you go out from their restaurant. Although the room is a bit small for their king size bed. Theres no closet only drawers and one disappointment is they missed a spot in cleaning the bathroom. However, staff is friendly and very accommodating. When we requested for our room cleaned, they did clean it thoroughly Their food is also yummy but lacks vegetables in their menu. They also dont have my favorite puerto galera drink which is the banana chocolate shake. I would give them a 5star, however theres no phone/intercom in the room. If you need something from the front desk and house keeping you need to go down to the front desk. They also dont have room service but you can bring your ordered food from their resto to your room. Overall it was quite good. Stayed 3 days. Never find it on your own as Sabang is full of narrow side roads and mazes and alleyways. All the locals know the hotel and one showed us the way. Only 2 minute walk from the harbour and pier, and less than a minute to convenience stores and many restaurants. Rooms were cleaned daily and all have balconies or outside patio areas. Just one minor point to note for new stayers. The door lock system takes a bit of working out. Finally figured it out after a day. Here is the trick, found by trial and error.... keep the handle in the horizontal position and close the door firmly, then turn the handle to he vertical position, then use the key to lock it ( needs a couple of turns of the key), then reverse the key direction a bit to release the key from the lock. Now I am no dummy but this took a fair while to work out, with a bit of cursing, but once you know how its no problem. A simple hand drawn diagram on a piece of paper on how to do it pasted to the door near the handle would have been appreciated, and I noted other newly arriving guests had the same time-wasting issue of trying to figure out how to lock the door. Sabang is the best place to stay but for enjoying the beach ( White beach) you can take the jeepney ( 15 minutes scenic journey), its located only few hundred metres walk from Oasis Hotel. Get off at the last stop then get on the tricycle to White Beach which takes another 10 minutes. Total one way cost 120 pesos only.

This is near the drop off point of the bancas coming from Batangas Pier. I have booked this through Agoda.com and the rate if cheap for a 5-pax group. The room itself has a double and 3 single beds with the thinnest bed spread I have experienced. The bathroom at the minimum, functional. Just be careful with the sink otherwise it will fall off. The hot shower is just satisfying after dipping in the beach. In an area like Puerto Galera, there is no point of splurging on a hotel. It is just a big wet market chaos after all. Good thing there is the Mindoro Sling.

I really like El Galleon. I'm not one for big, slick hotels. I like the character of El Galleon with its thatched roofs and bamboo balconies. We wanted a seaview room but were given #3 when we checked in. You can only see the restaurant roof from inside #3 - you have to go to the balcony to get a slight view of the sea. But the staff let us move to #1 the next day - a real seafront room and IMHO the best room at El Galleon. The Point Bar is so named because it's right on the point between Small and Big Laguna beaches. So it's a hangout with a panoramic view of two bays. 2-for-1 happy hour! The restaurant is all open air and serves very good food. We never used the AirCon - the ceiling fan over the bed was really powerful. Great bathroom with huge shower area. Very comfortable bed. Watch the laundry prices! Expensive! Having strolled around both beaches, El Galleon sure looks to me like the best place to stay in Sabang.

The most memorable part of my stay was the staff that worked there. For the price I paid for the hotel room, I would have thought I was staying at a five-star hotel. From the moment I walked in, everybody greeted me by name. My room was located in the back facing the ocean. The hotel is located far from the main strip of restaurants and bars so you are limited on what you can do unless you get dropped off by car service. You get 1 roundtrip ride a day. The service at the restaurant was great, but the food was not that good. The tours are pricey. 2,700 php just for a boat to take you out and 600 php for a guide that will take you to a cave, coral garden, fish feeding, and an unremarkable beach for more snorkeling. I would skip the beach. Their private beach is sufficient for more snorkeling. I wish most of tour was spent in the coral garden not that beach.The clam was unimpressive from a distance. For nightlife, it would be best to leave the hotel and have them drop you off elsewhere.

I reeally like the hotel. I was expecting worse based from the other reviews but I was so surprised. The room was clean except for the drawers. The view was really nice and the staff really did their best to accomodate everything we need. The location was also good since it is very near the beach and the food stores. You can also watch the performances straight from the balcony of our room. Overall, the price was really worth it.

A truely wonderful place to stay, big rooms, clean and open with plenty of space, embrassed by tropical views draped in warm sun. It's located on the egde of "Small Tabinay Squares" which I found out was a well known Basket ball court with locals across Mindoro. To find it just tell your trike driver you want to go to Small Tabinay Squares Basketball court and they will take you right there. It has a beautiful clean private beach where the local kids catch little fish, and if you don't feel like cooking is right next door to a really nice and affordable restaurant with an awesome and welcoming staff. that runs The Squares is a total sweetheart. Her right hand man is just as you'd imagine some-one called to be, their cleaning staff are absolute treasures.
