Guimaras hotels & places to stay

My bestfriend and I made a quick visit in Guimaras since we’re in Iloilo. We booked a room (which is the only available one here in Agoda) for 4 but we’re only 2. The room was really spacious and clean. The aircon works fine. The bathroom is nice, the water current in the shower is good. The location of this place is the best for beach bums, it’s right at the beach! The nice view iis right at your finger tips. Another good thing about this hotel is their restaurant is their restaurant, they serve really delicious food, and the mangoes! OMG, the mangoes taste amazing. So, if you are travelling in a bgger group, maybe for 4, this is really affordable. The only downside here is maybe their suoer slow internet connection which can only be availed near the swing, but even if you’re there... it’s no use. Other than that, Raymen is a good place to stay... Stay in Raymen, eat at ther restaurant! :)

After a few days on Boracay we went to Guimaras to see real Phillipines, not spoiled by mass tourism and it turned out to be great choice. It is only a few hours by bus from Boracay. Staying in Jannah you have really comfortable conditions for the island exploration and JANICE (resort manager) is always ready to help you in each matter. In general all the resort staff is lovely. Go there, rent motorbike and explore lush, real villages with always smailing and greeting you locals. Take a boat for a beautifull island hopping. Enjoy dinner at beautifull and quiet garden at Jannah. The prices at Guimaras are totaly different too, of course comparing to Boracay. In general both places highly recommended.

There were four of us, with two rooms at the north end of the resort. The service was outstanding, with the staff so friendly and accommodating. The establishment is on the east side of Guimaras, and for those who are early risers it affords gorgeous sunrises. The food is generally outstanding, but the breakfasts were a highlight. Mangoes and other fruits were always included, and being in Guimaras, probably the best mangoes I've ever eaten. The rooms were very comfortable, and the swimming pool was just outside the rooms to refresh oneself, after a hot walk, or a long session of Videoke. All four of us felt so relaxed, and can't wait to come back. A true oasis with friendly welcoming smiles. If there was only one negative was that there was no wifi. But the way all of us approached this situation, was to say, "We are off the grid boys and girls." It made decompressing that much more enjoyable. A fantastic place to stay.

The staff were great! Food is very delicious! They're very welcoming and tries their best to fulfill your wishes. Location is a bit far though, but if you will have a land tour in guimaras it is worth staying here. It's just near Guisi Lighthouse. The resort just needs to upgrade some amenities. Shower heater is not working. Aircon is not cold. No internet and No Cellphone signal.

Good place to commune with nature and if you like to do soul searching, this is one of the place to be in Guimaras. Away from the crowd. No wifi and very weak phone signal. Real time FB and IG status updates are no use here. It will be a "real time" given to yourself, or with your love ones, or great friends. Choose their sunrise huts if you want most the silent place. The hammock under the huts is a good place to read a book or discuss life goals with your partner. Get the sunset rooms if you like a view of the lagoon and an AC for a colder sleep. Any of the huts facing the beach is the best for big groups or for those who love to hear the sounds of the sea waves during their sleep. The staffs are great and accommodating. We would love to come back to this resort again in the future.

The staff were nice and very accommodating. They assisted us with all our queries and were very helpful for our needs. The breakfast they served was also great. However, they served it without asking us first if we like what they were planning to serve - good thing is that our group likes what they served that day. Room was also nice and even if they added an extra bed, it was still very very spacious.

The location is remote so the obvious plus was that it's like having an island all to yourself. The downside, however, is that the travel is a bit long (45-60 min) if you're coming from Iloilo. Also, it wouldn't be as simple to tour the rest of Guimaras. If you want to feel like you're marooned in an island though, this is the perfect Magic Island with its great staff and good food!

We stayed there for 2 nights and would return. Getting there is pretty straight forward, ferry from Iloilo then either a trike or multi-cab to the resort which is a 45 minute ride, we took a trike for 300 pesos, multi-cab is 600. The last half of the ride was over a very rough road which hasn't seen a grader in a long time. When you are dropped off it is a 10 minute walk across a beach to the resort, there are a lot of stairways on the ground so I would not recommend it for a handicapped person. The grounds are well maintained, the rooms are quite large by Filipino standards, nicely appointed with a large balcony looking over the beach/ocean. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food was quite good but a limited menu with 3 or 4 daily dishes available. It isn't really feasible to go to San Miguel for dinner as far as I am concerned with the resort being quite out of the way and no other local restaurants. There is no internet access but the cell service is fine, I got internet via a dongle wifi hookup. There are 2 beaches both not very big, the saltwater pool was quite big and nice. The terrain is pretty rugged so not many places to walk or hike. I would recommend it for being a quiet relaxing place where you can do a lot of reading. It is not a resort area like Borocay or Cebu. We recently stayed at the Zemkamps Chalet. The hotel is conveniently located in the town of Jordan. We got a warm welcome. The owners take care of the guests in person. Our room was clean and spacious. The interior is in a good state and the aircondition worked fine. Zemkamps Chalet is a small hotel. Thus the atmosphere is relaxed and familiar. The breakfast was included in the rate. There are different choices between both Filipino and international breakfast meals. We enjoyed eating our breakfast while sitting in the beautiful garden of the hotel. Zemkamps Chalet has no own restaurant serving dinner. However that doesn't matter, as a nearby restaurant delivers excellent food upon request. A must try are the famous Guimaras mangoes. The staff will surely help you by organizing a trip to a farm or by organizing other activities like island hopping. We really enjoyed the stay at the Zemkamps Chalet and we can highly recommend it.

It was very nice. Due to it being a Monday with only us as the reserved guests, the owner upgraded our room for us. The resort is beautiful, the beaches are nice; a combination of white sand and rocks as the shore recedes especially. The restaurant food was good although they didn't have much available after the busy weekend. The staff was great all around; friendly & accommodating. The remote location makes it a little challenging to get to. The resort will pick you up (most expensive option), a tricycle is available (also expensive), or it is possible to take a jeepney most of the way there followed by riding on the back of a motorcycle for the last 10 minutes (budget option). There is also a jeepney that stops in front of the resort around 7:00 AM with another stop some time in the afternoon, as this is a remote location and the jeepney is the way most islanders get to Jordan and Iloilo City.

I booked with The Clara Beach because I was intrigued by its exceptional ratings. If you're coming from Bacolod, the best way to go here is via Pulupandan, but their ferry schedule is quite erratic so I couldn't really recommend that route. In the end, I just took the Bacolod-Iloilo-Jordan, Guimaras route going here. I was already beat by the time I got to the resort, but much to my surprise, Bena (one of the owners) graciously offered to upgrade my accommodation. And I absolutely loved the room they gave me (an entire cottage with its own bathroom). It was much more spacious than the room that I initially booked with them so if you have some cash to spare, better get this one instead. Bena and her staff (especially Syrus) are very warm and accommodating. They are very hands on with their guests; Syrus even helped me book a land tour. The place is very secluded and located far from the island's swimming beaches, but if you're looking for some quiet time, this place is perfect for you. And while there isn't much to do here, the food here is superb (most especially their Thai curry selection) and absolutely worth the long travel going here. I'd strongly recommend this place to any person planning to visit Guimaras.

The place is located a bit far the usual beach areas of Guimaras. This is ideal for people who are looking to spend time with nature and far from the crowded areas. I actually liked the place only that the location of the dining area is quite a hike. Also, I received an e-mail that we could come earlier than the usual check in time where in we actually arrived 5 hours earlier so we spent the waiting time for the island hopping. sadly when we came back at 2PM the room wasn't ready yet. That's fine with me, Cai the resort manager was apologetic. Only that it was a bit of inconvenience to someone who came from an an island tour and badly needing a cold bath. To add, the food was fine only that it was overly priced and you are left no choice but to eat what was prepared. In short, there is no menu so make to contact the resort about your food arrangement prior to travel. I'm sure they'd be glad to make the arrangements. Overall, the place and our experience was great.
