“amazing place with superb service”
this is a beautiful resort in a quieter part of rayong… because it has so much lush greenery and two big pools, it is often much cooler than the surrounds the staff are simply superb - very friendly and cannot do enough for you - we would rate their service 11 out of 10. pleasant, friendly, efficient but not overbearing - truly delightful and enjoyable the breakfast is the best we have ever had at a hotel (we’ve been to thailand, bali, japan, vietnam, fiji). Coffee is excellent, a basket of breads and croissants (hot), and your choice of eggs, cereals and fruits and juices. Nothing out of the ordinary per se - just everything done exceptionally well and of high quality. Simple, but delicious. The grounds are green and lush and lit up at night and looks great (see pics). Rooms are very good and spacious and the air con is quiet and is on all day if you want - so you come back to a cool room! Most rooms have a good size balcony overlooking the pools with large bean bags - great for relaxing in the afternoon or evening. Ours had a jacuzzi too which was nice! Ohana is a short walk - 200 metres - to 7-11, beach and restaurants (nearly all seafood) and 10 min. drive to town / koh samet ferry. Our only real criticism is that rooms need a small table and chairs inside - there is nowhere to sit inside except on the bed or the bench - which makes talking/ reading/ working/ eating impossible unless you sit on the bed or wooden bench (not really meant for seating… but no option!). easy fix with small chairs and table as plenty of space in our room to have them. Perfect to relax or for couples as it is quite romantic but also very practical if you just want a great place to stay in rayong. Perfect for families too as both pools have shallow kids area. Pools are big! and one is a ‘beach style’ with sand and large flat rocks on edges. Cannot recommend or rate Ohana highly enough… the staff and rooms/grounds and breakfast make it superb and enjoyable value.
