“Best Capsule Hotel in Hong Kong”
Hands down one of the best capsule hostels I have ever stayed at. The hotel was really worth the money. Location: Located really close to Exit B2 of Tsim Sha Tsui MTR Station and was within comfortable walking distance to attractions such as K11 Musea, Avenue of Stars, Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront and piers. The hostel is also very close to trendy establishments such as Red Tea, Bakehouse, and Hashtag B. The hostel is also very close to the main road path of the annual Chinese New Year parade! I went to watch the parade and was able to return home within a couple of minutes without the need to queue or go into the crowds taking the Metro back to their homes! Downstairs, there is a 7-11 just next to the hostel’s building’s entrance The Hostel: The hostel is separated into two areas: Private rooms area which is similar to regular hostel with regular beddings and capsule rooms area which is your typical capsule hostel with capsule rooms and shared facilities. There is a kitchen and three bathrooms in total I think (one inside the male capsule room zone, one inside female capsule room zone, and one near the kitchen). The Capsule Rooms: The capsule rooms themselves were quite nice and comfy, each was equipped with a safety box, and what I really appreciate was the universal electric socket and two USB Type A charging slots which were a total lifesaver! The room is also equipped with sufficient lighting. The room temperature was perfect when I visited in winter and all tenants were cooperative to the rules. The Bathrooms: The bathrooms were properly cleaned and supplied with amenities including disposable shaving razors, shaving creams, shampoos, soaps, hand soaps, toothbrushes and toothpastes, as well as towels and hair dryers. The toilets in the capsule rooms area were the Japanese smart toilets which I absolutely need as someone who comes from a country who uses bidets! The hotel also has a wi-fi and a very convenient check-in and check-out process. The elevator that leads to the room is rather peculiar if you have never seen it before. It’s a combination of your typical elevator and a swing metal door. Now for the things that I would like to comment on: - I think the hostel instructions were not quite clear enough, as someone who has stayed in capsule hostels before, I am already used to the culture and habit of navigating through the rooms and shared facilities but I believe for first-timers, it would take them a while to get used to the house rules and facilities. For example, there is no instructions saying that the numbered shoe racks and lockers are designated for your room number. Also, there is no guide on locations of amenities which means that guests would need to find things by themselves. - I asked for my linens to be exchanged by using the door labels but I don’t think my linens got exchanged at all. This wasn’t too much of an issue, but I think it would be nice if a proper instructions or guides are placed somewhere accessible so that guests will be able to know how to ask for help regarding things like changing bed linens, etc.
