“Considering the location, it's a good deal.”
I chose this hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui because I wanted to go to various areas such as Kowloon Walled City Park, Kwun Tong, Mong Kok, and Hong Kong Island, and I wanted to enjoy local vibes and the ferry service with the airport bus stop being nearby. The reception was not what I expected; it felt more like an office desk, which made me a bit anxious about whether I was in the right place, but I approached the staff. It's located on the left upon entering. It's not particularly deep into the city, and even if you're not accustomed to Hong Kong, it's a user-friendly area. Considering the good access to various places, the quiet environment, and the price, I felt it was a good deal. ■ Access You can take the A22 and A25 airport buses. On weekday mornings, the bus to the airport took about 20 minutes due to traffic, which made me a little nervous, but I arrived at T1 in about 45 minutes. There are bus stops behind the hotel and near the MTR, which made it convenient to return to the hotel without transfers. (A shortcut to the bus stop behind the hotel was closed for construction. It is unclear if it will open in the future.) The MTR station is also nearby. The entrance to the left when you exit the hotel is close, but you need to go down to the underground and walk, so using the entrance on the market side from street level allows you to see vibrant local shops while walking, which is enjoyable. ■ Room I had a twin room, but it was barely big enough to open one suitcase, and it was not spacious enough to live comfortably with it spread out. Although it wasn't facing the sea, the night view of the cityscape was beautiful. There were multiple lights, making it relatively bright. There were few outlets: two in the BF-type on the desk and one by the window. The desk also had a type B outlet. The outlet on the desk was deep, and depending on the shape of the adapter, it might not fit. I had some trouble with that. The shower room and toilet door were combined, so when using the shower, the toilet would be open. The partition in the shower room was made of smoked glass, so those who are sensitive about privacy when staying with friends should be cautious. Inside the room, there were tissues, bath towels, hand towels, rinse-in shampoo, body soap, a hairdryer, disposable slippers, a bottle for fetching water, an electric kettle, cups, a safe, and a refrigerator. Towels were exchanged daily. There was a water server at the end of the hallway, and I was able to fill my bottle and carry it with me every day. Coffee and other drinks were also available on the second floor during breakfast time. Due to a cold wave, I requested a blanket and a heater. Although I didn’t use the heater, it seemed quite bulky when plugged into the outlet. ■ Environment I enjoyed the quiet; I couldn't hear noise from the hallway, adjacent rooms, or outside. The elevators were always crowded, so perhaps they placed me on a quiet floor. Welcome’s selection was much larger and richer at the Ma Hang Chung store than at the back. I didn’t have dinner in this area, but I had breakfast and dessert, and both the珍寶餃子 and 浩記甜品 were delicious.
