    “Exceptional”

Stayed here during our trip to Kyoto and overall had a great experience. Arrival & Location: Check-in was smooth and quick. There are restaurants nearby, a 7-Eleven about a 2-minute walk away, and a Starbucks around 5 minutes away. We originally booked this hotel because it’s about a 5-minute walk from the train station. However, we ended up Ubering around a lot, so I can’t speak too much on the train access, but the convenience is definitely there. Room: We booked the standard twin for 3 people and it was more spacious than expected. It came with 3 twin beds and a beautiful view. The beds were comfortable (not too soft or too firm), and I especially liked the pillows. The bathroom was also really nice, strong water pressure and a bathtub. Amenities: The rooftop has seating areas with a lovely view of Kyoto. There are separate male and female onsens, and the female onsen requires a key to enter, which I liked for safety. The onsen itself was very clean and relaxing. There are also washers and dryers available, but this was the only downside of our stay. We spent over two hours and quite a bit of money trying to dry our clothes, and they were still extremely wet. We had to leave with damp clothes since we had a train to catch, which was frustrating. Note: When entering the building, you take an elevator to the 3rd floor, then walk a bit to another elevator to reach the rooms. Slightly inconvenient, but understandable for safety.

    “Best hotel in Japan”

Hotel Emion Kyoto provided an unforgettable stay that truly went above and beyond. A special mention must go to Risa Motooka, whose exceptional professionalism and kindness made all the difference. When I accidentally left my AirPods behind, Risa personally reached out to inform me and took the initiative to arrange for them to be couriered all the way to my hotel in Osaka. Her sincerity, efficiency, and dedication reflect the highest standard of hospitality—service like this is truly rare. Our room was remarkably spacious, immaculate, and incredibly comfortable for my family of four. The hotel’s cleanliness is outstanding, and its location—right beside the train station with a covered walkway—made travel effortless and stress-free. One area that could be improved is the laundry facilities. For such a large hotel, only four washing machines are available, and one was unfortunately out of order during our stay, which made doing laundry a bit challenging. Even so, Hotel Emion Kyoto stands out as an exceptional choice, thanks largely to the remarkable service from staff like Risa Motooka. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kyoto, especially families seeking comfort, convenience, and truly outstanding hospitality.

“Conveniently located hotel with excellent facilities”

This hotel is conveniently located 1 stop away from Kyoto station, and has almost direct connection to Umekoji-Kyotonishi Station, which made our travels around Kyoto pretty effortless. The attached mall on the lower levels also provided an added level of convenience for food options when we were too tired to travel out. The hotel is rather new, and the onsite public bath was also pretty good. We were also kindly offered an upgrade on our room which we were not expecting. The rooms were really big and also very comfortable. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again should we visit Kyoto in future.

    “Staying overnight with children.”

I came from another prefecture to celebrate my father's retirement with a dinner party. After dining at the hotel's restaurant, we stayed overnight at the hotel. It was very comfortable as we were accompanied by our 0-year-old child, and a baby bed was prepared for us. Umekouji Park and the Kyoto Aquarium are right in front of the hotel, and we were able to walk there easily. The staff were very attentive, and we had a pleasant stay. There were few parking spaces inside the hotel, which made us a bit anxious, but we were well informed about nearby parking facilities, and the fees were not as high as we had feared, relieving our concerns. Breakfast was also very delicious. One thing that caught my attention was that in the first-floor entrance, which also serves as an event venue, it seemed that a local person was clearly visiting to cool off. While that is fine, they were lying back on the sofa and napping. We had a small child with us, so we refrained from using that area. This wasn’t an issue with the hotel staff, but it was a bit disappointing given the image of Kyoto. Additionally, in one of the women's restrooms on the first floor, there was a piece of torn toilet paper (possibly left unflushed?), which made me wonder if the cleaning checks were inadequate. That said, our stay was very good, and we were very satisfied. We were able to spend a relaxed and peaceful time as a parent and child.

    “Great hotel ”

The hotel is situated only one stop away from Kyoto Station. There is a covered walkway directly from the station to the hotel. The hotel has some size to it, but it doesn't feel large and mpersonal. All of the staff from reception to restaurant and cleaners were friendly and helpful. We got an upgrade upon check-in, which was lovely. Our room was very large, well laid out and clean. The bathroom was very large and there was a separate toilet. Breakfast was delicious. All in all we had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Emion Kyoto.
