I came here on a solo trip to see Taylor Swift and this was one of the cheaper hotels I could find due to the increase in tourist that were also traveling to Singapore. I ended up choosing this specific Hotel 81 because I read reviews that this was newly remodeled and this was close to the stadium. I arrived at 8:00am and typically check in is at 3:00pm. The staff was so kind and gave me a key to the room right away instead of waiting till 3. I really appreciated considering the flight I just got off was 17.5 hours. The room is on the smaller side but I didn’t mind. I immediately took a shower and there were 2 towels. 1 towel was clean, but the other had some type of brown stain. Everyday when they gave me a new set of towels, always 1 towel had some type of stain which was annoying. Additionally, there were some drain flies in the shower the last 3 nights I was there. There are 2 bus stops close by, 3 mins away and 4 mins away walking, however the MRT station is roughly 12min walk. There is a convenient 7/11 right across the street along with a laundry mat which was really useful on the trip. Pros: -Bus Stops Nearby -Laundry Mat Across the Street -Filtered Water Station in Bathroom -Air conditioning -Free Wifi Cons: -Dirty Towels -MRT Station is far -Drain Flies Overall, besides the towel issue, the bedding, bathroom and the room were clean. Additionally, I’m going to assume the drain flies were due to the weather. I give my whole experience a 3/5 but I would stay here again in the future if needed.
