"Comfort Inn Half Moon Bay is comfortable and convenient but it needs a facelift to bring it into the modern world. We had one night. It was comfortable - great feather pillows! - and in a good location by the beach. The staff were pleasant. However, hot breakfast food ran out before 9am and was not replenished. Having enquired, we were informed that housekeeping would be informed. But the staff member didn't think to come back to us and say that serving finished at 9am and there would be no more hot food. The water was cold for the first two showers - it improved for the third. During a drought situation no-one wants to waste water so we didn't let the taps run till the water came through. Carpets and bathroom are looking old and shabby. A makeover is needed."

"The property is gorgeous, right on the water with landscape and decor to match. Room is spacious and appointed very nicely with very comfortable pillows and comforters, Aveda bath products as well as a deck overlooking the ocean. I enjoyed the common outdoor seating areas as well, and felt like I was in an English garden, my favorite. The breakfast included appears quite lovely, all self serve with trays to bring back to you room, fresh fruit and an assortment of bakery items that are AWFUL, so disappointing. Taste as if they were two days old or frozen. Also coffee was not good either, said cold but was definitely not. I was also never greeted by the staff, and I spent quite a bit of time in the lobby seating reading and relaxing each day. They could have been friendlier for sure and even at check In I didn’t get a sense of welcoming. Maybe they do not like working there? Either way, I would return again as the view is and scenery is just breathtaking."
