"Stayed here to attend a conference in San Francisco. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, and even allowed for me to check in early (even though I just asked for them to store my bags first). The room was a bit small, but that was expected. I also didn't mind as I was not in my room most of the time. The sink was outside of the bathroom, which I found a bit odd. I found the room to be spotless! The location was very central and within walking distance of the Union Square and restaurants. I will definitely stay here again."

"This is the day I stay in the Amsterdam Hostel, and I am glad to have the chance to stay in this hostel. When arriving in the hostel, I was asked by Amsterdam staff at the front desk saying that "May I have your id?" That 's the most memorable part I remembered in my trip. I have to admitted that staying in a 4 bed room makes me a little uncomfortable; however, I am very happy to have a chance to stay with a Russian and some other tourists from all over the world. That is the most unforgettable part when staying in the San Francisco. Meanwhile, this is the last day I stayed in the Amsterdam Hostel, so I have to cherish this opportunity very much. To be honest, this is one of the most valuable hostel I lived in the San Francisco, and I am very happy I can stay. Last, I think why this hostel is called "Amsterdam Hostel" since the manager here is an European, and that is why this hostel is called "Amsterdam Hostel". "

"The hotel was very clean and had modern facilities. The location was great -- very near the BART, Muni stations and the shopping center. Although the general area is not considered that safe, the short walking distance to the hotel from public transportation and shopping establishments helped us feel more secure. The room was fairly large and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The hotel staff was also very friendly and accommodating. The wifi was good. Overall, we had an excellent stay. We will most likely book the same hotel on our next trip to San Francisco."

"Granted: the area - at the edge of the Tenderloin - may not the best, but given the (for European standards) simply insane prices for hotel rooms elsewhere in San Francisco, this was excellent value for money. In contrast to many other - much more expensive - hotels I've seen in the city, which claim to be newly built or renovated but already have a somewhat shabby look and feel, the room and the entire hotel were impeccably clean and modern. Also, instead of the usual 'minibar-rip-off', there were gratuitous water and snacks in the room. And last but definitely not least, while I cannot say that the personnel at other SF hotels was unfriendly, the staff here was exceptionally nice and helpful (thank you for that!). I will definitely stay here again on my next visit."

"I was unexpectedly in San Francisco for 24 hours with a missed connection. I found travelodge on agoda with a very competitive price. It was strangely hot for October, so the photo of the pool got my attention. SFO info directed me to the free shuttle bus and I was at their door 2.30pm for 3pm check in. After waiting 5 minutes the friendly staff directed me and my 87 pounds of luggage to a ground floor room near reception. The pool was as nice as the photo and helped me spend the rest of the afternoon. Food was at the iHop next door, standard american stuff. I could see a McDonalds within walking distance, and there was petrol station with convenience store about 70 meters up the road. Room was clean (and a bit old) with a comfortable large bed and nice shower. The TV set was huge and had a good range of channels. Despite being right next to the highway my room was quiet. After a good night sleep it was a 5 minute wait for the shuttle bus and back on my way. Well worth staying for night."

Understanding San Francisco's Weather and Best Time to Visit

San Francisco’s weather is famously unpredictable, characterized by cool summers and mild winters. The city experiences a Mediterranean climate, with average temperatures ranging from the mid-50s to mid-70s Fahrenheit throughout the year. The summer months of June to August are typically foggy, with the infamous marine layer rolling in from the Pacific Ocean. This fog can create a unique atmosphere but may obscure views of landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge.

The best time to visit is often considered to be during the fall months of September to November. During this period, the weather is usually warm and clear, making it ideal for outdoor activities and sightseeing. Spring (March to May) also offers pleasant temperatures, though visitors should be prepared for occasional rain showers. Winter (December to February) is the wettest season, but it brings fewer crowds and can be a great time to explore indoor attractions.

Regardless of the season, San Francisco has something to offer year-round. Whether it’s the vibrant festivals in spring and summer or the cozy atmosphere of winter, each season brings its own charm. Understanding the weather patterns will help visitors pack appropriately and plan their itineraries to make the most of their time in this captivating city.
