Bataan hotels & places to stay

The best place to bring foreigners and for them to get a taste of the glory days of the Philippines. That the Philippines is not just Manila and it’s traffic. We have more to offer and Las Casas is THE ONLY place for them to experience that. The old houses here have so much history and art. Some are very opulent, others minimalist but true to Filipino culture and heritage. If you’re a family of at least 6 people it is best to rent out a whole house or casa because it comes out cheaper per person. If you’re just a couple then a hotel room is best and not a whole house to yourself. Although the rates have doubled in price in the last few years, I believe it is worth the expense. It is hard to maintain for the upkeep of these old houses so I’d like to think I contribute to its preservation.

Room - 2 pax (2 single beds) This room would be totally amazing if the beds were softer and if the bed doesn't make creaking sounds when you move. And since the room is located along the entrance to the pool, just beside the reception area where the dining hall is located, you will hear footsteps and motorbikes/tricycles at night. If you're a light sleeper, better book the room upstairs which is also good for 2 pax (Queen bed). I also need to point out that the hot water is not hot enough (barely lukewarm). The gardens outside of this room though areAMAZING.. And it's only a minute walk from the infinity pool - the best infinity pool with spectacular views of foggy mountains during the day & the sparkling lights of Bataan by night. If you need to do a little bit of work at night like me, there is a study with a wall lamp where you can comfortably work if you need to. The WiFi works! This is the cheapest room I believe, but the price is still quite steep mainly due to comfort factors.

I truly like this place. It was built during the Marcos era (1974) and I am both a hotel professional and a history "nut". The design of the place is fantastic and very "high end" in the '70s mode. The Oriental has done a great job. The key would be to keep the staff off of their cell phones (a key problem in all hotels in the Philippines). Deluxe rooms are in the "basement" of the front.....so keep that in mind. Food is "fair" at best. The pool is great actually and the location and view were really excellent. When in Bataan, we will return for certain.

Bataan was our last stop on our Vigan-Laoag-Bataan roadtrip before heading back home to Manila. The Plaza Hotel was by far the best hotel we've stayed throughout the 4day trip. The room was big (well, maybe because they have upgraded our room). Buffet breakfast was good as well. The hotel is located at the center of the city, there was even a mall nearby so looking for a place to dine or having a cup of coffee would not be a problem. The WIFI was fast! But its location can be also a disadvantage as we had a difficulty looking for a parking space. The bathroom, I think, is poorly designed. There was water everywhere as they do not drain properly.

I was hesitant to book this hotel as many reviews were kinda negative but when we stayed there everything was great. Im not sure about the others talking about mosquitos but there was none at that time. We also had the chance to upgrade our room without extra charge to beach front. It was really nice stay the food was really great and i think the price is just right for the taste. The beach is great and the staff were really nice.

Pros: -Room is very spacious and clean -Aircon working well -Wifi is fast -Food fits the price; main dish is good for 2-3 -Staff are hardworking and nice -Bathroom is nice as well -Bed is comfortable -Pool is clean Cons: -Place is quite isolated; around 20 mins from the “bayan”, 45 mins from Subic Port The place is so good for a staycation. Just remember to bring snacks and other food that you might want to eat during your stay since there is limited food in the menu available. The front desk is available til 8pm and you can order dinner from 6am-7pm. There are few temples and monuments to see. Just ask the receptionist and they can provide you a map of the BTP or you can avail their tour services. You can also visit the BTP Museum just across the hotel. If you plan on visiting the Bataan Nuclear Powerplant, make sure to book a tour prior to your visit. Overall, our experience was great and memorable. Will definitely go back!

The room we booked was large enough for a group of 12. It was also clean and has complete amenities. Staffs were nice and accommodating. We didn't had any problems during our stay. My family enjoyed the place especially the infinity pool. However, expect rough road going to the resort. The waves were quite high but still safe for swimming. Less crowded beach was a plus despite the holiday. Overall experience was very good. Recommendable place :)

(Stayed for 3 days, 2 nights) We gave 5 stars for money value since we got what we paid for. We went there end of Nov 2018. There were some challenges we encountered with the bookings but the staff were able to adjust to our needs. The following day after our 1st night, the place was rented by a team building group. The best part of our stay here was the beach front were we had it all to ourselves since we are the only ones checked in for the first day. Clean beach and according to the manager, they are still working on developing the area especially after the typhoon hit them bad few months back. For the food menu, the price is ok, (average price of 150php). We are expecting a small meal but the choices of food there is good for 2-3 persons (without rice) and we kept ordering the spicy squid for the meals we had without getting bored of the taste! The chef is good though the last meal-breakfast (before check-out) that we had with the same dish was different since the chef was changed. Nevertheless, after our curosity of why the dish taste changed, the staff accomodated us and effortly added some more squid dish to our meal. The house service spa is good. It is just pricy (400php for 1hr) but they will do the treatment in your cottage. I was able to sleep well relaxed for the night. We paid 1000php and the therapist has no change and decided to give us change the next day. She was unavailable during our second day of stay but thankfully enough she was there on the last day, had we not reminded her, we might have overtipped her, lol. She just the have our last meal deducted the 200php change. For our last day upon check out, it so happens that one of the caretakers is going back to manila so the manager (Rod) offered us for a ride. We were a bit hesitant at first since he was so accomodating but then we agreed. Went on a random trip to Bataan, and was able to book a standard room for cheap. Our side was still under construction as the resort is expanding; the place could have used some safety signs though (there were some rusty nails lying around the hallways). The pools are nice, the beach was also great. If you're looking for a nice enough place beside the sea that will not hurt your wallet, give this place a try.

The property is located inside the Bataan Technology Park, which is a former site of the United Nations Philippine Refugee Processing Center in the 80s-90s. The room where we stayed is newly renovated and larger than expected (we might have received an upgrade). But the overall look of the property and the technology Park need upgrade as some structures are dilapidated. Need vehicle to get around. Property is close to nature (so many trees) and shrines. our stay became an educational tour also.

We had the same day booking, and just like our other bookings in Agoda, it was quick and hassle free. We called on the way to the resort and said we are getting Dormitory for 8 person, the staff who assisted us, is easy to talk to and said she'll prepare the room for us (I think there's still have several rooms available since it's a Sunday to Monday only accommodation). We arrived around 6pm, and I got really annoyed for one of their lady staff who welcomed us, doesn't know nor have any idea of Agoda, and was likely having doubts about our mode of payment. Nevertheless, I do not appreciate the staff in the reception because it's quite obvious that she's not trained well and very rude (aside from the fact that she doesn't know what she's doing. But the other lady staff who accompanied us on the way to our room is as friendly and accommodating as well as the others. So I don't blame the resort, perhaps it's just that one lady who welcomed us. Nevertheless, the room is big and clean, bed are spacious with 2 T&b although i have to comment with the defective shower heads and poor water pressure. Grilling stations are also available. The pool is kinda old and not so deep, perhaps only 5 feet. But I still recommend it to Big groups who just want to have a quick relaxing Bataan getaway.

My family really enjoyed our stay at Camaya. I didn't expect much because of the reviews I've read due to its location. Yes it is far, it is not Batangas after all. It took us 6 hours to get there but that's because we it was our first time to go to North and we had A LOT of stops. BUT the drive was all worth it. Bataan is beautiful, we loved the scenery and Camaya was every bit worth the long drive. Beach was beautiful, they had a lot of activities for the kids. The hotel room was spacious and clean. The staff were all very accommodating and polite. No extra charges for towels and you get to do a lot of activities free. Food was also great, reasonably priced with huge servings. At night they have someone performing live. Very good dining experience. My kids loved the place and we are definitely coming back!
